Awesome video, Brian! I just received my x95l yesterday. Best TV I've ever seen. I have 3 OLEDs and three mini leds (C9, G2, A90J, 646, U8H, QN90B). Everything you said was spot on as usual. I can't find any blooming. The blacks are black, and the way it handles the local dimming is incredible. There was no light bleeding in the black bars, and I can't see any blooming. I've thrown many tests that mini leds always struggled with. Like the blooming(worst out of all my TVs)on my qn90b or lighter black bars like the U8H. I like both TVs for different reasons, same as my OLEDs, but they dont touch this. Even last years, 85 inch x95k had some occasional light bleed and blooming, such as small torches in a dark scene. I honestly am shocked that Sony pulled this off. Best pop I've ever seen. It looks like my a90j but with way more pop and clarity. You were spot on the clarity. The viewing angles are also amazing. Thanks as always, my friend, and I am always looking forward to all future videos. Enjoy your new QN95C! I hope we can see some gaming streams in the future.

@Trump Ameri I like my QN90B, but for me, it has great highs and bad lows. In other words, it looks great in bright scenes but not so great in harder scenes with darks and brights. It actually my worst TV out of the bunch as far as blooming goes. However, it can do some scenes fantastic. When it comes to the x95l, it makes my Samsung look lower res, and the pop and blooming are unlike anything I've experienced. I even calibrate these things. I'm glad you're enjoying your QN90B! That's all that matters when it comes down to it.

@@guiltynessness8926 Is it the 85'? Im thinking of going 65' here in EU, but i'm afraid there might not be direct comparisons between the sizes. I have OLED fomo but also watch lots of sports with static logos, so im glad there's finally an LED that keeps up with OLEDS, with maybe the exception of the QD OLEDS.

My settings I would use on the Sony ( My 6 years experience with their settings and game mode):
    -Gamma -1 (game dependent)
-Black level 49 or 50 depending on how it affects any particular game.
-Gradation preferred at all times, brightness ruins highlights and contrast.
-Live color depends on game and if it over saturates the image or not.
    -LD on high
-Maybe play with contrast between 90-100, also game dependent.
-Color Tone would be either "warm" or "Expert 1" depending on game. Sometimes Expert 1 can seem too yellowish. Especially in games that already pushes that, Horizon for example.
-Reality Creation I would use on manual and crank it up a bit and dial it back down just at the point when you can see it creating artifacts or too much processing. That way you get the sharpest image. And yes RC is more than just "sharpness".
The point with -1 gamma and black level at 49 it brings back contrast, makes it less washed out. But as I said, all depending on games and how dark or bright they are.
I can easily say I have never felt my Sony 900E game mode has been bad. I never see blooming either except some loading screen. So if I can get that but just more brightness and better processing and the 120Hz VRR I would be happy. Also in the movies and shows, it seems amazingly better than my 900E could dream of so that would mean massive improvement there.
Just don't know if I would get the 85" X95L when on sale. Or wait for next year and see if X95M has Pentonic and maybe even better processing and zone count?

Samsung seems to highlight some textures of rocks, trees, thereby giving them some degree of 'sharpness' with extra detail which can be a plus. The colours are also more vibrant on samsung. On the other hand, sony textures appear to be smoother like some form of aliasing going on which is also a nice effect. Overall, for gaming , i might be leaning towards samsung , but for watching movies, i might go with sony for better depths.

Also, Brian kept the Sony in "Brightness preferred" basically in all games. The Sony would look even better in Gradation preferred because it retains more detail and contrast and doesn't clip highlights and blow out so much.
The Sony might lack settings. But it's base level is already good, Just a tiny tweak here and there to gamma or black level and it could change enough.
The Sony won in movies/demos hands down IMO. So even if QN95C has more options in game mode. I think the Sony game mode is good. So combined it's best overall.

Litearllly shocked how they held up no blooming . Yeah,,,d Distance is KEY . Usually ppl shoot in smaller room they directly put Camera 9-10 feet away instead of going FAR then ZOOM in.

Thank you for the video. I am returning my Sony X85K back to the store. I miss the clarity, brightness, and color on the TV. It feels like the screen is shrouded in white (no FALD, but even with FALD the colors lack clarity). I'm thinking of taking the QN95C.

If your in the United States the X95L wins as it's 85" and if you have the room no 77" can replace it . However if you are coming from a smaller size and 77" is big enough the S95C is simply impossible to beat. If you're not in the US and are looking at the smaller size X95L the S95C see at the same size easily beats it.

  • @loki76

22:20 look at Miles at this exact freeze frame. You can see the blueish blooming on the Samsung and no detail. But the Sony has none of that. I know it's a split second. But that is very interesting.
24:36 Sony looks way better here. Your custom (I know preference) is way too blue and remove the warmth and detail of color gradients etc. Brown is gone from the trees. Kratos stands out more on the Sony. It's that XR working.
The Returnal looked best on the Sony. Somehow the Sony has the character stand out more in the image. Also, it comes down to gradation preferred. It overall makes image better on Sony. Some scenes might not show as much, but in others it's a huge difference from having the washed out brightness preferred.
It's hard. The Sony might like extra settings options. But It seems pretty nice though and I know it can be tweaked a tiny bit more with certain settings.
