Make sure you buy just enough food along the way while doing the cheat and they may survive a little longer. Also, they may age a lot faster than usual so If your virtual family dies of old age then that's completely normal. I do also have to mention this cheat takes a lot longer to do.

I did this cheat all the time but then the family tree in the game was overfilled and it caused too many problems which is why I uninstalled it from my Mobile and started playing the game on my computer. Now I have a different cheat which I use that does not kill off any family members.

GUYS If you don’t want to lose your family tree or adopt someone new, you can still do this. Just put at least 1 of your kids in boarding school (detail button > upgrade me > boarding school) and that kid will be safe from dying. When you come back, it is likely one of the parents will be dead, but that’s okay because you can move on to a new generation with that kid.
