  • Can I break 85? - EVERY SHOT IN 12 MINUTES [front 9]
    A round of summer golf at Maesdu golf club in Llandudno, North Wales. It's a par 72 championship course that is a blend of parkland and links. The club was founded in 1915 and James Braid was the course designer.
    3:36 Fore shout 1
    5:53 Nearly hit by a ball incident
    12:32 Front 9 score
    The green fees were £27 for 18 holes in July 2022.
    The back 9 from this day will be posted at 1pm, 9th August.
    I'm James, a golfer with a dodgy swing now playing off a 13 handicap. I had taken 4 golf lessons to improve my swing on the day of play.
    Previous rounds at this course:
    Feb 22: • What 15 Handicap Golf ...
    Oct 21: • Every Shot of an 18 Ha...
    April 21: • Every Shot of a 27 Han... (front 9)
    • Every Shot of a 27 Han... (back 9)
    I'm looking to continuously break 90 on the courses I play. Even if I don't shoot a good score I always enjoy strolling around the fairways of North Wales, UK :-)

    Nice front nine of golf on the hardest course I've seen you play, 70/130 slope and rating and 6200 yards ish. Just a couple errant shots kept you from the low 40s. I'd still like to see you widen your stance in the bunkers, it really helps flatten out the swing and makes them much easier. I'll be waiting on the back 9 vlog, hope you get to the 80s. 🏌‍♀⛳👍

    I noticed that you were putting your hand on your side before hitting driver, I assume to square your shoulders up? I had a driver lesson the other day, and was told to stand with the ball between my feet, then put my hand on my backside, reach round from under to square the shoulders and then take stance. I found this has made a world of difference in my drives.
    Also, I noticed your bad drives were when you swang the club around your side and your good drives where up and around.
    Great videos James, loving the content, all the best! 😎👍

    I was hit by another player's ball yesterday. Luckily it took a few hops before, it still looked like it came at me real quick. I was able to move and take it in the calf. Didn't really feel a thing, I was kind of on cloud 9. At the time I was +2 through 15, it was my first time on a full sized course in 6 months or so. Completely happy and shocked with my play.

  • @neilpeace7734
    @neilpeace7734 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    That reminded me that a short while ago I was playing one of the par 5's and I nearly took out a young lad cyclist with a pretty well hit hybrid. Just after I hit the shot he appeared out of nowhere along a path followed by two others. It must have missed him by a few feet. He seemed oblivious to it but the last of the three called out to him and then looked towards where the ball was so they must have seen it whiz past his ear. Kind of scary and that would, of course, have ruined my round if I'd knocked him out. 🙄

    • @neilpeace7734

      It was the only time, in my golfing life, from memory, that I have ever actually had to shout out FORE!! So it was a rather unpleasant experience really.

      @notaperfectgolfer3489  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video very suspect 12.6 handicap tho 🙈⛳💪

    • @bigfatolly1482
      @bigfatolly1482 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why ?

    • @howdo1govern995
      @howdo1govern995 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I was 12.6 I definitely wouldn't be aiming for 85 score. I'm off 13 and score regular 80-83 off yellows. Definitely don't do that off the whites. If I avoided white/black tee medals and focused on yellows my handicap would probably be 10/11.First time he plays a competition off whites his handicap is going up. Especially if he's happy with 85 off the yellows. It's similar to what tubes and his bro do regarding handicaps. Next video off the whites please prove me wrong.

    • @bigfatolly1482
      @bigfatolly1482 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes his handicap is based off of general play off yellows,as most people's are since that is the tees golf clubs want you to play off to keep competition tees in good nick for comps. He is no threat to those who play comps as his handicap is off of yellows so yes he naturally would find it tougher off the whites.The only dodgy handicaps are those who manipulate the system and only put in high general play scores to gain more shots in comps and there are plenty of those.

    • @howdo1govern995
      @howdo1govern995 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Every club I play you can play whatever tees you want. Even more so now that you can say I'm playing a general play score. If he entered a comp he'd be doing himself out of shots.

    • @notaperfectgolfer3489
      @notaperfectgolfer3489  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      bigfatolly is correct around here you can only play off the whites if you are a member (or get special permission). It's a bit of a weird system but my hcp is all from the men's yellow tees.

  • @randyclark1221

    I can forgive someone hitting up on me once. After all, everyone gets that great shot once in a while. But I can't forgive getting hit into twice by the same golfer / group nor can I forgive someone not yelling 'fore'.

    • @notaperfectgolfer3489
      @notaperfectgolfer3489  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's one of the really annoying things that happens occasionally on a golf course. In this round the ball came from an adjacent hole which meant the guy should have shouted 'Fore' instantly. It was a 250 yard tee shot which could have been a very serious incident but luckily it didn't hit me. Thanks for watching Randy :-)
