Otak means brain 🧠 but otak-otak is a food from mackerel fish. This food really popular in Terengganu, Malaysia (east coast peninsula malaysia) where you can get lots of seafood there. For me Terengganu is like Busan
P/S: some people making joke that if you eat otak-otak you can be smart and clever 😉
East malaysia = sabah, sarawak.
East coast peninsular malaysia = kelantan, terengganu, pahang
For my personal opinion i think Sabah got the best seafoods + they more fresh and its cheaper than Terengganu right? idk if its just me but Terengganu seafoods just abit expensive 😂

The first food video, i believe that would be Nasi Lemak (sorry not tomato sauce, that would be sambal) :) , the rice was used having some yellowish colour (i think tumeric colour).
The way they think everything similar to korean cuisine and how does the food taste is kinda funny. But most of the foods is totally different from what they think. 😂
fun fact: the leaf is actually banana leaf 🤯🤓 i bet you have never seen a banana tree or banana leaf but ironically, korean eats banana quite often. Honourable mention, all time korean fav drink is banana milk!! 🍌 hahahah yess, malaysian food uses a lot of banana leaves. it is the identity of our dish!!
Otakk-otakk is a traditional state food from Terengganu which made of fish.. the taste slightly same as fish cake

The green leaf you saw are not bamboo leaf, it's a banana leaf. Banana leaf gives nice aroma to the foods.
And it makes the food last longer😉

U can ask gimme baik tv, they even bring karipap to korea. They had contact Malaysia people live in korea, even Malaysia shocked they could bring pulut panggang to korea

3.18 it’s not curry, it’s mixture of chicken/meat with little bit of curry, 🌶
3.33 it’s vinegar mixed with onion
4.23 it’s coconut 🥥 they press it down to get the milk.

4.47 yes it’s sweet treat like seongpyeon. But this one ain’t sticky or chewy like seongpyeon.
6.01 kuah kacang = peanut 🥜 sauces. and yes Ayam means chicken 🐔

8.49 otak2 literally mean brain-brain
9.26 it’s hamburger. It’s probably honey 🍯 mixed with oil and sugar (or probably other sauces) but definitely not pork sauce since this is bazaar Ramadan (Ramadan is Fasting month for Muslim-and we don’t eat pork).

Dear girls, ou asked what otak-otak,mit is fish meat mix with herbs and grilled, its not crab. I am Malaysia, so I dont wan't you misunderstood them, and its wraped in palm or banana leaf, not cocoanut leaf.
it's not bamboo leaf, it's either coconut or banana leaf
i really think korean have a very similar taste to malaysian because we have a lot of food that can be equivalent to korean food, we also got a lot of fermented food like shrimp paste fish sauce and kimchi in our traditional cuisine, korean also love fermented fish which Malaysian also got xD
