I still want to see a video of just anyone using concealed tools. And let them try to get in. Say with a 5 minute timer. Pry bar hammer screwdriver. From my own experience with just about every style out there. If you are worried about the bed space of a roll top. You won’t like a tri fold. Most do not recommend driving with it up against the rear window. Because of the high speed wind. So you’re limited to where you can lock it back down. None of them are 100% water proof. A lot of the water infiltration can be traced to the tailgate. The low air pressure will force the wind and water to swirl around the tailgate and it finds its way into the seam. A new weather strip carefully applied will usually solve that problem. The full hard plastic flat cover is probably the better for security and water proof. But it has the limits of either open or closed. Anything to tall causes loading problems. Think of moving drywall in a strong wind across your yard into the house. Now add 40 miles at pick a speed. The vinyl roll top is pretty obvious a last resort. That leaves the rollbacks either full open or full closed. The in bed covers to me seam like the best choice. That few inches of space that you loose from the container is pretty minimal. And it doesn’t go all the way to the bottom of the bed. Although the drain tubes do. No I am not a dealer or manufacturer. Just what I stated before.Someone who has had them all. I didn’t mean to rattle on.. I meant only to add to the conversation. I found one last year that has the in bed top. But also a toolbox built on top of the canister. it has a Rolls Royce price tag. But it might be just what I'm looking for.
THE EQ DOES NOT WORK ON NEW GM TRUCKS- DO NOT BUY IT IF YOU HAVE A NEW CHEVY/GMC. The promised door lock/unlock and tailgate functions don't work, and it almost never responds after 3 presses of the remote, 4-6 is the norm, and Retrax support took 2 weeks to come back and tell me to just press the buttons really slowly and it should work in 3-4 presses. !DO NOT BUY THE RETAX EQ IF YOU HAVE A NEW CHEVY/GMC!
@@zachattackcustoms There is actually a slightly different part number for 19-22 and 22-24, mine is a 2024, and while the pre-sales specialists at RealTruck promised the functions all worked, Retrax support admits they don't.
@@ormandj They've never done anything for me- someone else said that the lock/unlock works for them on their 2024, so perhaps there is newer firmware that they have just not bothered to provide me...
awesome video Zach! I work at aucarauto, where we also focus on providing high-quality vehicle modification solutions. Some of the technical points mentioned in this video align well with our new product, and I hope there will be an opportunity to discuss this further in the future
Man, that's a good looking Frontier!
Yes and its only fitting that the Nissan Pro X has a Retrax Pro XR. 😁
Thank you for showing how to turn off the beep in the settings. I don’t have either cover, but the beep drives me insane.
lol glad I could help. Yea I turned it off before having the cover cause I agree, I didn’t like it either.

So the XR is a direct fit on a Pro-4x? Just got a 2024 and I have no idea about Frontier accessories.
Yes, it fits fine. They have several different options to chose from on realtrucks website.
@@zachattackcustoms thanks.

What year is your truck? My 2020 Silverado works flawlessly.
