when i moved out of LA i got a whole new love for shopping and running errands cause i felt like i didnt have to fight for parking/crowds LMAO it was so freeing hopefully youre feeling the same sense of free :-) LOVE SALLY DARR IN ATLANTA
This was such a great way to lean into the start of fall!! I have a Kindle but I don’t love giving my money to Amazon so I only use it for library books. Otherwise, I love to support my local indie bookstore to get their recs and discover books that aren’t popular online/being picked up by the algorithm. My policy is that if I discover a book I want at the local store, I’ll buy it from them to support their business. On average this means I read about 50/50 on my Kindle or physical books. I usually go to the local bookstore during lulls between holds from the library.
I was literally wondering about your apartment hunting status MINUTES before you brought it up so I indeed do care 🫡 The plaid Casey Musgraves outfit is so cute btw! And am obsessed with your new overalls
I used to switch between Kindle and physical books, but I got so accustomed to the light weight of the Kindle and selecting the font size...now I only buy books if I really liked them and want to display them.
girl we are the same I just bought that same bread flour at the food lion to make cookies and I could eat that pimento cheese with a spoon. Luv your vlogs and adventures always
15:20 I have a kindle and I love reading on it and getting books from Libby but I def do still love to go book shopping and buy books from time to time! They are 100% collectors items for me. My logic now when buying books that I haven’t already read on my kindle is that I’ll only buy something new if it’s an author I know I like, if the cover is cool enough that even if I don’t enjoy the book I’ll still like to look at it on my shelf, if I’m in a sentimental place/ on a trip, or if I have a really really strong premonition that I’m going to love it. I have no control in a used bookstore tho bc I’ll buy soooo many things bc they’re so cheap haha. And if I like a book I read on kindle I’ll try and buy it used first (like on thriftbooks or something) and then last resort is buy it new from an indie bookstore if I can find it 😌
i don’t own a kindle but i also don’t have the money to buy new books all the time and i do like having a physical copy so i usually get my books from the library and buy the books i liked, or i buy a book if it’s by an author that i have consistently liked. and even then i usually look at thriftbooks first !
I read everything on Kindle first, and then if it's good enough for My Curated Library, I buy a physical copy. only gorgeous, great, re-readbale, loanable, recommendable books belong in My library (which is mostly Didions, classics, memoirs, books of poetry, etc.).
I almost exclusively read on my kindle but I have a couple of authors I’ll buy physical copies of (like Fredrick Backman books are so gorgeous and incredible I MUST have them on my shelf) but I read a bunch of KU books that I don’t feel the need to have physicals for
I’m very much a silent watcher, but I wanted to say, I actually discovered you during my first trip to Atlanta ever, and ever since then I’ve loved seeing your journey! all this to say you’re one of my favorites! I love your content and how genuine you are. I always look forward to a sally darr vlog
Since I love to comment as I’m still watching theVlog. I just caught during the grocery haul that you are reading “really good actually. “. I really liked it but some of my other friends did not. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
1. Totally agree with another comment I saw, just dye your jeans back to black! They have so much more life in them! 2. GO FALCONS!!! Was a very exciting weekend to see us beat our rivals 😤
i kindle and audiobook and i maybe pick up 2 physical books a year out of like 40 lol. it makes me feel bad as a reader... but the convenience of the kindle is just too perfect! edit - I also tried to read Really Good, Actually earlier this year and DNF... I felt the same way. Thankfully it was a libby loan.
Ha! And now here comes the book review. I’ve been reading on a kindle for more than 10 years now and I stopped buying physical books unless from the thrift. Any physical book (novel) I read goes to a friend or free little library. I only purchase nonfiction/ self help books that I will annotate.
Levi’s is having another sale and you influenced me to order the overalls! Do you mind me asking what size you got? I was thinking medium but all the models online are wearing size small so I’m not sure!!
