I'd recommend the book Gone Like Yesterday by Janelle Williams-- it's set in Atlanta (your potential future home) and is about not one but 2 girls who don't really know what they're doing!
I would highly recommend reading Acts of Desperation by Megan Nolan if you like that sort of story, its like a more ramped up writers and lovers by lily king and I swear each page is a punch in the gut about the female experience of figuring out life and being in relationships with men
