There is something special about these sounds and images, the Energy Star logo and all. It was amazing to watch machines and Windows grow up to today's standards.
Well - because it's true. Im from 80's and computers and technology in 90's was amazing. It was something new, something fresh. Today's technology seems normal, stale, boring. Sure - faster processors, more GB's of RAM etc. But...who cares when using a computer is so normal...as doing laundry. No emotions. PC's are faster and faster...but so normal as well. Back then, using a computer was such an emotional experience. It was something new. It was time of 3D graphics, innovations in games, first games on CD's etc. Today it's...normal as hell. It's not something bad. But it's not the same, as back then.
When I was 14 I bought an old Windows 91 computer. Not sure if that was the official name of the OS but it was my first computer and I loved the boot sounds it made. First time I turned it on the sounds and the "scent" of technology that came out from the ventilator. It was amazing, like instantly rocketed to a sci-fi spaceship control room. All the flickering lamps etc added to the magic. Plus it even had a TURBO button 😄🤭✨
our company bought 4X 200mhz in 1997 for housing to some family members. put a voodoo 2 12mb in 1998. some of their friends already had them in 1993to 1996 where I played Heretic, Hexen and doom.

Thanks to the people back then for giving us a beautiful future with new laptops and computers. And going back then seeing this wonderful machines is just amazing

My first PC was a Pentium 120Mhz with 16MB RAM and a 500MB HD. It was the top of the line for a while back in 96...Win95 was amazing!
mine was a Compaq Presario CDS 762 it had the very first Pentium to come to market the Pentium 60 MHz CPU inside it that brings back memory's
