Yeah. I own the TAN15C with the cedar top. The cedar is dark golden with thick lines and prominent grain...just wow. Either this is a poor quality light 15C, or a 16C :) Ofc its the 16C and its lovely. However, the cedar version I have is just better. And what else...I was hoping to spend like 5000$ (I am from Slovakia) on the best guitar there is - Lowden, Goodall, Collings, Bourgeois, Santa Cruz (definitely not a Taylor or Martin or any of the mainstream that anyone has nowadays) and after some....months!!! I stayed with the TAN15C!!! The liveliness, the warm mellow romance it gives with every strum (I use Elixir Nanoweb 0.012-0.053), the projection with even the lightest touch on the strings with the smallest amount of effort ....I tried some Special editions of Takamine acoustics, the yearly models, yet couldnt find a better sounding guitar than the TAN15C. Its probably the best Takamine has ever done....Did I mention I got it for 600$ on a yard sale in the next town from me? Damn...
I am looking to buy a Takamine ENV 340 SC, Can you tell me what it should be worth, He is asking $1000 for it with case, he tells me is was worth $2600. 00 when he bought it new, I played one years ago and was amazed at the sound and feel of the guitar, what dose the E N V stand for? he said in was a Nashville series guitar, can anyone help with these questions. thanks in advance Chester
aprl 2008 onward should have CTP-2 (series 2), read it somewhere online said to warm up faster, u can quite notice "pitch" is instead called "calib" on CTP-2 if im correct...
I have the 1st gen too, got it in my TAN10C when they'd just come out and it was cheaper than the old EAN10C with the CTP1 preamp. That didn't last long. I don't suppose you have any of the tri-ax soundhole pickups that were built to go with the aux input? I'm considering one at the moment but don't like buying without hearing a demo!
Rodrigo A. Blanco Odio.
Does Takamine make a 12 string with the cool tube pre-amp? If so which one's? I have an EF341SC which I love the sound of with the CT4B, but I would prefer getting a 12 string with Tak's new preamp
@Lukas7226 e ai cara voce tem o tan16c? eu to pra compra 1, oque voce acha do violao? eu tinha um ef341sc, e era otimo e lindo tb, mas me parece que esse tem um som mais bonito acustico e plugado tambem...abraco!
Anyone know how to order the actual housing for the ef341 takamine i had put a cool tube preamp in it but it had a ground issue and when i popped the preamp out on of the clips on the housing that holds the preamp in broke and now it sits in there loosely with just one clip keeping it in. any suggestions would be appreciated
come on takamine.....i have the ct 3 preamp and there is no video demo for that . there is ct 2, ct4. no ct 3. what does the preamp do when the batteries are low? i have no manuel. please comment.

Rob, are you still around? Nobody knows anything about these preamps. What is the difference between the latest revisions? 4A and 5A, I think, but who can say for sure? Which are available to upgrade preamps in other Taks? Which wouldn't work, or might work with differnent hardware? Nobody knows. The dealers are helplessly in the dark. Can you help?
Just wanted to let everybody know before they rush out to buy a Takamine cool-tube pre-amp. One of the two cool tube models eats up battery power within just two hours of playing. Then you have to go and charge the batteries after each use, which is a complete pain in the ass. I just came on here trying to find out which one as I can't remember exactly. I think it's the CTP-2 I'm not sure. If my recollection is correct however, then the one to buy is the CT4BII. I need to find out for sure!!
Unlike Taylor guitars, Takamine make great pre amps, the cool tube is the best sounding pre amp ever built, period. I have a Taylor 614ce with the dreaded expression system which I ripped out and replaced with the Takky cool tube system, transformed a very lame sounding guitar! Now, unlike Taylor, Takamine just need to learn to build a playable neck, not the skinny nutted baseball batted offerings they've been serving us up for the past 20 years! An inch and three quarters is surely not too much to ask??
Thanks for the video.........sounds great.!
Great job!
I learnt a lot!

On wich takamine models does it fits? Becouse you can buy the amp separately.
What kind of battery life does the cool tube preamp have?

Is there a huge crack just behind the bridge? or is it just the light?
is it easy enough to replace the tube if necessary ? or is it fixed to the unit ?
What is the green light next to the volume knob? Mine doesn't have that.
Yeah I know what I mean..I can't remember the name of the pre in the EAN10C seen as the CTP1 is the cooltube..
What guitar was you playing please Colin uk 😊

Hey there awesome video thanks. Where would you set your volume on your guitar ? 1/4 ? 1/2 ? 3/4?
how do you plug a mic to that spot? between the strings?

I made some videos for the italian Takamine dealer: type "takamine click'n'play".
Ow lucas 7226 esse violão é o TAN 46 C? e QUANTO VC PAGOU NELEC ?
Oh yes, the aux on the 1st gen is a red socket as opposed to yellow on the one you have, not that it makes much different :)
this guitar is a Takamine TAN 46C?and how much it is costing the United States there? thank you very much!!!
Takamine TAN16C
I'm pretty sure that's a TAN16C. that's the guitar I have

Thank goodness Takamine has a good, easy to use pre-amp...otherwise they can be a little too bright for me.
Chi ripara ill preampli takamine

My takamine is really easy to play, I'm not sure what experiences you have had with them
How did u install a takamine pre amp onto a Taylor ???
