Giving a Fresh Cow an IV

This fresh cow was listless and dull and unable to get up. Trav suspected milk fever and knew she needed an IV of calcium. It definitely helped and she was able to get up. But you can see she still looks weak and shaky. Not what we hope to see. We are keeping a close eye on her and doing what we can to get her feeling better.

Don't know what your current pre-fresh feeding strategy is, but we switched to feeding X-zelit mineral to our close up cows about a year ago. Completely eliminated our milk fever issus, would highly recomend.
