This is a poor quality video, some repeating parts. Some confusing parts such as saying that the pixel 9 will be taller wider and thinner than the pixel 8 but then calling the pixel 9 more compact
I don't like the island camera bar either but I also didn't like the design of the pixel 7 or the pixel 8 when they first came out. Originally when I saw the pixel 7 I thought they ruined the design, but now I think it's the best design on a pixel.
My biggest gripe with the new Pixel is the G4 will already have less horsepower than the latest snapdragon chip. I really wish they'd come back to qualcomm chips.
@@jmaxim917 Ever since the Pixel 6 they've had the Tensor chips. And every year since then, the Pixel lines have been weaker than Samsungs and all the other phones that use the flagship chip. Tensor's are based on Exynos and are weaker.
Pixel 9 series look better than ever. Having said that, I'm will keep my Pixel 6a until the Pixel 10 Pro probably. What I'm excited to know about is the Pixel Tablet 2 and see if it will come to more countries this time around, just like the Pixel Watch 2 did. Speaking of PW2, I'm very happy with this piece of tech and I don't see reason to upgrade any time soon.
I was thinking about doing that with my 6a, but mine is damaged(my fault lol) so I'm probably gonna get the base 9, then get 10 Pro. With that supposed new chip that'll hopefully be really good.
The curved sides feel much more comfortable imo and match the rounded design of Material You. Plus they were doing something different but now it feels like they are becoming iPhones.
The Pixel 6a gets features updates till July 2025 and, more importantly, security updates till July 2027! As long as everything's still funtional, you're set for a decent amount longer My Galaxy S21 stops getting updates next year, then I'm hopping on the Pixel wagon
Honestly, after the 8 Pro, I think I'm gonna stick with my 8 Pro until it dies or after the 7 years of updates. Phones are getting too expensive to upgrade this often without major changes.
I always buy flagship phones, because I am a "super user" but I usually get at least 3-5 years out of each phone. Currently still using galaxy s20ultra and it's doing just fine. Everything is still speedy. I am hoping pixel9proxl has a better battery and large screen, if they do ill try a pixel
Doesn't seem possible that the larger models are taller and wider, yet have a smaller screen size. This has to be incorrect... Unless they're adding dual front facing speakers.
As long as it comes with a 90 Hz or better display. Using the current one is a lagfest compared to a 120 Hz display. Would also be nice if there was a keyboard accessory, I could see using it on planes and traveling for work then.
I'm not loving the Pixel 9 series design. I think the 8 series looks better. The flat edges are neat but they're also probably a pain to hold compared to the curved edges. Then there's the camera bar. I like Google's current implementation where it blends into the phone's body instead of having it look like it was just glued on. Maybe i'll keep my current phone until the Pixel 10 series.
I've been wanting smaller flagship phone for years now. So I'm excited about the 9 Pro. I would be more excited about the Fold if it had kept the Passport style form. Disappointed they are leaving the passport form. I thought the form factor of the first Pixel fold was actually a nice differentiator to other foldables and actually a more preferred form factor. It definitely seemed to need refinement especially the bigger screen portion. Although I'm glad they are at least continuing with foldables, since Google often has short attention spans on certain projects.
If these rumors are true, I'll finally jump in on the fold series. Loved my galaxy fold but hated the camera and had to upgrade. Wanted the pixel fold but all the reviews I watched were disappointed with it's overall feature set. Very interested in this one.
P8P will do me just fine for the next couple years. Ill wait to see what the 10 brings to the table. New features are too limited it seems to shell out 1000 every year.
If the Pixel Fold rumors are true, then I'm very excited! It's a device that definitely deserves attention and high quality features. I'm also surprised that none of the leaks or rumors I've been watching for a couple months now mentioned how the camera design change is the perfect way for Google to make space for a stylus/pen. It's the same location as where Samsung's stylus goes and the perfect size for a stylus with some space on both sides. I mean, who knows obviously, but I'm definitely dreaming about it! 🤩 That was the biggest missing piece of the original Fold for me. At minimum, I expect USI support even if Google doesn't make their own pen. And with the rumored desktop mode that Google is also working on, now that's an incredible device unlike anything else! 🔥🔥
As a pixel 8 user, I think the biggest problem is their Samsung made chip. Just go for TSMC. I'm not saying some extreme performance they need to push. It's all about heat, in daily usage. Couldn't even charge(wired not wireless) above 5% when simply using it as a 4G hotspot. It comes to the same problem with snapdragon 888. Since it's not the first time, I'll blame Samsung for the problem instead of Google's chip design.
I love how they decided to move away from the perfect square design to this nonsensical Apple CRT round corners, sharp edges BS, 4 years after Apple introduced it (you could say re-introduced it). BIG BRAIN MOVE GOOGLE. Not to mention Fold dropping the passport format and becoming a glorified dildo.
They should be called Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro Plus, and Pixel 9 Fold in my opinion. Although 9 Pro XL is fine too. If Google wants to put a temperature sensor in their phones, hopefully it's included in the Pixel Fold 2
I had high hopes for the continuing evolution of the current design aesthetic. It's really sad to now see flat sides and a camera island. The blocky design isn't nearly as aesthetically pleasing, and more importantly it will not be nearly as comfortable in hand or in pocket.
I don't know why Google wants to copy Apple, the P8P is one of the most comfortable and easily recognizable phones (due to the signature visor design) I've held in years, I don't even feel the need to use a cover. If the P9P is less comfortable due to sharp edges and loses its visor design then is it worth it anymore? Or is it a design change to allow 3rd part accessories to be better integrated, I personally don't feel confident with a sharp edged phone and most probably will buy a cover, just like an iphone. Maybe the Pixel 9 Fold will be the better buy in that case.
Google really need to hit it out the park with the Pixel 9. I want a smaller display, like the S24 but also want a better chip and a telephoto camera. I have a Pixel 7 and will move away from Google if the 9 isn't that great. Google also ruined the camera especially the autofocus on the Pixel 7 with a software update
Regular iPhone and iPhone Pro have always been the best sellers. Better than iPhone Pro Max. It was dumb that Google only made bigger phones for Pixel 6 & 7 series.
copying iPhone was a mistake. one of the reason I love my pixel 8 pro is Because its not the same as iPhone that has been the exact same for 4 years straight. if this body design is real, I may not upgrade like I usually do every year. if I wanted an iPhone, I'd buy an iPhone. stupid move google
The temperature sensor's success will depend on "how much more useful it gets"? Ummmmmm, it's a temperature sensor. It takes the temperature of stuff, and now people. I feel like that is pretty much a wrap on expanding its usefulness.
They are sticking to the useless temperature sensor because as a company after just one generation they cannot admit that this feature is a total flop(investors wont like it as most probably it cost 10s of millions to integrate it.) 😂 So they need to still include it in the '9' lineup. 😉 after the 9 series they can easily scrap it under the 'users didnt understand/didnt like this feature' justification putting this project flop and money spent on the users blame lap.

Oh thank you. I was saying the same thing I rewinded it like what, didn't you just say the same thing twice?
I really like the flat sides compared to the curves of the p8p, but I REALLY don't like the island camera bar compared to the connected one
Yeah they changed it just as the pixel was being related to that camera visor
I don't like the island camera bar either but I also didn't like the design of the pixel 7 or the pixel 8 when they first came out. Originally when I saw the pixel 7 I thought they ruined the design, but now I think it's the best design on a pixel.
i like having both of you on the video. 🙂👍
I loved the essential phone look and feel!
Looking forward to trading in my P8P for a smaller P9P!
I hope they come out with a green color similar to the forest green iPhones
That camera bump is insane
I'm ready to go from Pixel 7 to the Pixel 9 Pro.
I’ve been waiting years for Google to give me a reason to drop Apple, and I really hope this is the year it happens.
probably skipping 9 for 10.... And maybe I might even get the fold 2025 depends on the hardware...
Going for pixel fold 2 I own the first one
Very good options
They really should just call it the pixel fold 2. Why not just stick to that name?
I have a feeling it's going to be Pixel 9 Fold and Pixel 9 Fold Pro
Would rather have a flip style PIxel.
can you guys buy jordan a new mic? his current one is peaking alot
Google has never (really) been good at keeping their pixel line ups under wraps 😅

so the pixel 9 Pro XL will be a bigger phone with a smaller screen???

Take it a grain of salt. It's not 100% accurate yet.

Google should really consider keeping the passport size… and let it be their mini in the line up. many and myself included are tired of the big phones
Lmao we saw these leeks in 2020 during the pandemic. That's how terrible Google is at keeping their products under wraps 😂
