Just for the useless information department, the toy car is a Matchbox 'SuperFast' #68. SuperFast was the new series introduced to compete with rival Hot Wheels models. This particular car (#68) was a model of the Porsche 910 (906/10) or Carrera 10. It was produced from 1970. If anyone wants to relive his childhood memories like the bloke in this film, there are a number of these for sale online.😀

The sad thing about becoming an adult is that we forget that there's magic in the world. Like the magig of a cardboard box, that can be anything from a time machine, to a rocketship that will take you to the stars. I hope when I'm old enough I'll remember that magic, and play kick the can and become a kid again. Those of you who are old enough, or fan of the original Twilight Zone will get that reference.

In space time there is no past or future. Only the present moment. On the space time grid, your younger self is on those coordinates still right now. And you can always use heart and mind to travel and be them. Or give them love. Their gift is they can give you your youth forever. It's a frequency we can all tap into. Just my belief that's all.

@@nikolasflameart9750 sorry no such type of timetravel possible.
But yeah you can recive memories from the futureself.
I sometimes get memories from my future self when I am awake and all. But the sad part is i can't control which memories I receive or send in the past.
The only problem is that something the order of things I remember happened with me but never happened.
Like the sazam movie (an old one)
Which disappeared from history but people like me remembers the movie in parts watching the movie as a kid. But in this timeline it never existed

I remember the episode; the elderly lead character decides not to go play with the other old people and so he does not return to childhood as they did; too afraid or too "sensible"
about the magic and the possibilities; too often these things come with age.

I think this should win an award, Sam. You did a great job - I think many of us feel like getting into a time machine. For me, I'd go back to the 1950s/60s, get out, then destroy the machine. Great job!! Very touching.

I am 42, and single. I lost my dad way back in 1986. I live with my mom and octogenarian uncle. In my culture, it is considered good to stay with your aged parents and look after them. As for this short, I have a plot twist: The toy car actually belongs to the present-day kid. He gave it to his dad (who suffers from memory loss), and they play a game together of going to the past, and his dad is supposed to bring back toys from the past and give it to his son. The man already had the car in his jacket's pocket when he boarded the "time machine". He just doesn't remember it. The man's son plays this game out of pure love for his dad, just to make him happy 🙂

I'll be 42 this June 30th as well and I too lost my father to a drunk driver I n 1991. My mother remarried and me and my brothers (older and younger brother and his girlfriend)all live together and we look after our folks as well. My step father is now a quadriplegic from a spinal condition. And he's basically bedridden at this point and we all have to help him. And my Mother's health isn't so good either but we all pitch in together to help make their lives easier with the daily chores and errands they can't do any longer. And I'm single because the love of my life died back on July 31 2017 from complications from pneumonia.... That WAS AND STILL IS SOOO HARD TO HANDLE....But if I had a choice to go back in time to my childhood? I don't think my mind could handle seeing who I used to be before so much tragedy struck throughout my life... I'm afraid it'll only magnify the sadness I live with everyday....

    MY INTERPRETATION:
The car itself was the time machine. With it, the man could travel back in time in his mind to when he was a child.

Michael S. I am 69 and when I was just 20. my mother died suddenly of a massive coronary one week before Christmas. She was only 44. My reaction was just like yours is now. it wasn't until seven years later, when my first child was born, that I once again looked forward to Christmas. Michael, do you have children, or even perhaps grandchildren? They can turn back on that spark of delight and celebration of not only Christmas, but the other holidays; and even Life itself.

That kid would've taken one look at that toy and refused it. And then he'd head home to play his VR 360 Oculus Grand Prix Simulator. I miss the simple days before all of the technology that our species isn't really mature enough to use responsibly, took over every single aspect of our waking moments. And even sleeping is being affected with thousands of us using sleep apps.
