Great post road trip round up 👍. Lol i guess pawpaw is the one and only success I've had over and above your amazing achievements mate. I have fruit on my trees now but to be honest i put a lot of effort into cross pollinating my plants to get that fruit set 😁. I've also just had my very first few UK grown grumichama fruits, very satisfying 🎉

I'm not going to mess with hand pollinating pawpaws, there are four planted, it's upto them. I saw your first grumichama, well done Brett!

Looks like it’s going to be a great year. Lots of flowers and fruit set here also!

Better bag those few avocados. Lol Alyssa said she and her partner eat EIGHT to TEN kg of avocados EVERY week 😱🤪😂 so they need an avocado grove 😂

I think the possums had enough avocados all winter, I haven't seen a fresh bite for a month.

Welcome back! I noticed that your left nectarine tree in a pot has mushrooms growing on the trunk. I think that’s a bad sign. It would be nice if they would be edible ar least! 😂

I'm not sure if mushrooms growing on the trunk is bad, but I'm really not concerned. Maybe a mushroom expert can chime in regarding them being edible.

I thought Kim helps you out in the garden.
Last summer I added mulberry leaves to soups, stir fries and made tea; not too bad actually.

She ocassionally mows, mostly helps with eating fruit. Good to know about mulberry leaves in stir fries.

Great video George. Would you be happy to swap a cutting from your long mulberry to some summer vegetable seeds? I got okra and asperugus beans. Living in Hillside

I don't normally trade mate. Plus, you couldn't be further away, I'm 3 hours round trip on the other side of town.

42:02 I only learned of cincturing a few days ago and it was fascinating. Maybe you didn't go deep enough to disrupt the sap flow?
Thanks for your channel. Super stoked to have stumbled across it while deciding which fruit tree to buy in FNQ. I just wanted one, but now I've got quite the selection, haha.

Also, all your mulberries look really hairy? Seems like they would have a weird texture. I have the standard old purple one from bunnings and my childhood, and there is no hairyness.

I was careful with cincturing depth to avoid damaging or killing the tree. I'll stick to hard pruning each year as the safer option. One tree is only the beginning, sooner or later you'll be at 101, especially on a larger property :)

Shahtoot or Pakistani mulberries are usually hairy, adapted to warmer climates with no freezes.

👍🌴🌴🌴 it’s good you can grow Rollinia as I have no luck with that mine is dead even with protection. Unless it come back from seedling 🌱 that it is ? As I have killed to many of them to try again.

I forget where you are. If in Melbourne, try again with a double wrapped cloth in late April till early November.

Do you compost the citrus scraps?

      Yes, everything returns to compost.

Compost fruit via fermentation bin to stop your fruit fly and also use the hanging traps and help us al out by keeping the numbers down while we adapt.

@@Fionnualagh I have a dozen home made traps ready to be refilled for spring/summer. All rotten fruit are mixed and turned with kitchen scraps in air tight compost bins. 👍
