This is so good. Perfect timing. Thank you so much. Much appreciated. The tax on my minimum wage jobs is finishing me off tbh. These patriarchies have got to stop harming women and vulnerable people so much.

Excellent discussion. Thank you for presenting this topic! This platform is very helpful in making resources available - I am in Michigan. I too have experienced (and suffered) EVERYTHING!! mentioned here. Its so much that can be said ... but thanks very much for your work.

I worked for child welfare for 8 years. I am resigning at the end of this month to go into practice marriage and family therapy. This is absolutely everything I have experienced working for that system. Just debilitating... I lost my hair, weight and most importantly time w/ my daughter. I gave so much with no validation and was exploited as a black woman. While I am glad that my journey in systems work is ending there is so much grief that I will carry. I stayed too long...

thank you for the kinds words. I am def trusting God. What a faith walk to go from consistent income to initial inconsistent. This job with CW was killing me.. slowly. I see my first clients at the end of this month in PP.. I am anxious but trusting God. @@NaTashaBLMFT

This is excellent! Thank you so much!
I've noticed that people who process workplace/career grief, even if they're still going through the process, are more likely to share their acquired knowledge, expertise and wisdom with others. This podcast helped me realize that I've come across an individual who has internalized racism which comes out in strange ways. I get it know.
Here's to more healing spaces 💛

SO TIMELY! THANK YOU, DR. THEMA!
Actually... hmm, this is somewhat different from my experiences because I've primarily worked under Black people in nonprofit. What makes it more difficult is because people don't believe it & kinda "toxic positivity" me. What's resonated are the recent call-outs of Black leaders who did problematic stuff. They blame the call-outs on racism when the people they exploited are Black...

I was beginning to think it was either all in my head or just me! However, finding this video and another one title "exodus summit" I am realizing this is a real thing. On May 1st, I submitted my resignation on a job at a major mid-western university where I have only been in the administration for 2 years. I couldn't spend one more Sunday nite dreading the alarm clock, sitting on pins and needles throughout the day - waiting for a shoe to drop or something unbelieveably ignorant or rude was said or done in my presence. The final straw was when a co-worker 11 yrs my junior put a coffee cup on my desk and said "You know what to do with it." I was done.
