I love watching this channel, Thank you, I don't know what it is about Japan, but there is just a level of happiness that fill when where ever I see life there.
I love hearing that you enjoy watching the channel! There's something truly special about Japan that brings a sense of joy and fascination. Thank you for your kind words and support! 😊
The water is super clear! And it looks very peaceful there. The food looked really good here to, always love a family mart video since i grew up where they started its first store here in the USA.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, especially the clear waters and peaceful vibe! Family Mart has a special place in many of our hearts, especially for those who have seen it grow. Thanks for your support! 😄
I love smoked oysters. Always keep a can handy, along with the sardines and anchovies. Can't go wrong with them on the shelf. Love your watch band. I would like to see next time, show us where you are eating (table, bench?) and you packing up the trash and throwing it out. Then the start of walking away. Would make it full circle, shopping to eating to leaving. Thanks for your consideration. Another great video. Thanks for taking us along.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the suggestions! It's a great idea to show the full experience from shopping to eating and finally cleaning up. I'll definitely consider it for future videos. Keep enjoying those smoked oysters, sardines, and anchovies!
I appreciate these videos since they allow me to get a dose of immersion as I'm learning Japanese. I know it's not the same as actually being there and being surrounded by the language but it's still helpful.
Thank you for the konbini features. I must try that on my return to Japan. My favortite Family Mart food is the naporitan spaghetti and strawberry shortcake. Japan has the best and most thought of convenience store products 😍
You're welcome! I totally agree, Japan's convenience stores are on another level. Naporitan spaghetti and strawberry shortcake are classic choices. Can't wait for you to try more!
I honestly love all of your videos and hope you keep posting, you make me want to visit Japan and get away from everything. Hopefully will take a trip this summer with my girlfriend and will try the places you have gone! Including the capsules you've stayed at! Thank you for the content!
I'm really glad my video could help you on your journey. If you have any video requests for places or food that you would like to refer to before you come to Japan, please let me know at any time.
@@experience_japan I'm not sure if I saw it in one of your videos but there's a pokemon store called Pokémon Center DX Tokyo, that would be an interesting place to do a video especially because Pokémon's online presence on youtube, if you've already gone no big deal but it's one of the places I myself would want to see! Safe travels and maybe we'll run into you during our stay when we go!
Hi I don't know if they still have this but a few yrs back when I went to Japan they had this cheesy baked rice gratin that was absolutely delicious I'd highly recommend it if you can find it
I miss Family Mart, especially their Famima Bakery goods. The danish bread and hot cakes are the best! Luckily I'll be back this summer so I can live off konbini food and purple red bull again!
This is like our Dollar General stores here in the USA, they are everywhere, in just about every town where I live. I really enjoyed this video and seeing some of the products you have. 😊
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video and found similarities with Dollar General stores in the USA! It's interesting to see how convenience stores adapt to local needs and preferences in different countries. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! 😊
Everything, even the oysters (which I don’t like to eat) looks good. I’m always impressed with the technology that goes into ensuring the cleanliness and longevity of, for example, ramen and rice bento. I would probably be able to subsist only on food bought from convenience stores in Japan.
It's amazing how Japan's convenience stores offer such quality and variety, isn't it? Glad to hear you appreciate the effort that goes into preserving the food. Even if oysters aren't your favorite, there's something for everyone. Hope you get to enjoy many more convenience store treasures!
I think that I would try the sandwich and for sure get a crepe they are my favorite but some of the other ones I am just not sure because I can't have anything with soya sauce in it that is what makes it so hard to go to Japan and ty these dishes that you share with us but love watching your videos thank you for sharing them with us
Thanks for your comment! I understand how challenging dietary restrictions can be, especially with soy sauce being so common in Japanese cuisine. I'll try to share more soy-free options in future videos! Glad you enjoy them and thanks for watching! 😊
The scene of that gentleman gingerly crossing the stone bridge during the dashimaki opening part, there is something moving about it. I don't know why. Probably reminds me there are parts of life I just can't rush or barge through. The onigiri looks particularly savoury. It looks it might pair well with a cup of freshly brewed black. The cheese and cod snack is pretty intriguing too.
It's beautiful how some scenes can evoke such deep feelings. Take your time to enjoy every moment, just like crossing that bridge. The onigiri does sound delicious, perfect with a cup of coffee! And yes, the cheese and cod snack is a unique treat. Enjoy exploring more flavors!
Thank you for the video. I’m impressed with the variety of packed food available in a convenience store. In the UK is mostly snacks and sandwiches in cardboard wrapping plus coffee machines. Sometimes I wonder of the amount of additives put on food to make it last and taste as fresh as it can be? How’s the nutritional value like in convenience food in Japan? The cream crepe cone looked good and the oysters…such a cracker! 😁
Thanks for watching and for your thoughtful questions! In Japan, convenience stores strive to offer a balance of taste, convenience, and nutritional value. They’re continuously improving quality and variety, considering health aspects too. Glad you liked the cream crepe cone and the oysters!
So glad to hear you enjoyed the food, especially the strawberry and cream crepe! It's one of my favorites too. Thanks for watching and sharing your favorite! 😊
Satisfying, as always, my friend. I don't like oysters, unless they're New Orleans style-raw, sitting in their half shells on ice, lots of lemon juice and maybe a bit of hot sauce. Just slide them down...yum! These are good to me only because I never have to chew and actually taste the oysters! Hahaha! The juxtaposition of the crepe with a cod & cheese snack right after seemed odd...but then there were other things to see and imagine the taste that followed. Made me peckish, and I just had dinner! Looking forward to your next video-thank you very much for this installment.
I'm thrilled you found the video satisfying! Your description of enjoying oysters made me smile. It's all about finding what works for you, right? Can't wait to share more with you in the next video. Cheers!
That's something many people miss about Japan - the convenience and thoughtfulness in packaging, along with the deliciousness of the food! It's amazing how those small details can make a big difference. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 😊
...fine weather, nice area choice to consume interesting Family Mart goodies...it could be pre sakura matsuri picnic outdoor...thank ü for inspiration this spring deserves🌱🌊👍🏻
You're welcome! Enjoying Family Mart treats in a nice area, especially before the sakura season, sounds like a perfect plan. Enjoy the spring and thanks for your kind words! 🌸🍃
These snacks are so interesting, the strawberry crepe looked delicious and the chicken sandwich! Very similar to what American convenience stores carry only obviously the snacks are way different!
I'm glad you found the snacks interesting! The strawberry crepe and chicken sandwich are indeed favorites. It's fascinating to see the differences in convenience store offerings around the world, isn't it?
thank you for the videos, I watch them to try and learn a little about Japan because I will be traveling for 3months there next month and I dont know how anything works and Im pretty scared 😅
Hello I have only been watching your videos for a short time now but I must say that I Love them so far your videos have become very relaxing to me. It is almost like visiting Japanese and the different places with you keep the videos coming Thank you Washington DC
I noticed you do a great job of mentioning when food items pair well with alcohol, and the smoked oysters remind me almost of a Spanish tapas style dish small and elegant. Are their Japanese style bars or pubs in Japan that sell side dishes like the smoked oysters with whiskey saki or beer in an opened can like this as I think it would be a fun presentation to eat with alcohol in that type of setting? My personal favorite looked like would be the oysters or the egg cake cooked in broth, but they all looked amazing! Thanks for sharing!
You're spot on! In Japan, there are indeed izakayas and bars that offer such delightful pairings with alcohol. The concept of enjoying dishes like smoked oysters and egg cake in broth with a drink is very much a part of the dining experience there. Glad you enjoyed the video!
After shopping at most American convenience stores, you might die from food poisoning. Also, our convenience stores are expensive! Not that convenient, after all! I am considering to sign up for a gift box with authentic Japanese snacks to get monthly. Including Coca Cola! I wanted to ask you something! I went to a local asian market today and bought a can of milk tea. I LOVED IT! It was supposed to be Japanese, but pretty sure it said “product of Taiwan” brand name is Cravi. How popular is such canned milk tea is Japan? It was very tasty!
Milk tea is popular in East Asian and Southeast Asian countries. You can make it at home, buy it at coffee shops, buy a bottle or can from the supermarket, etc. Most Southeast Asian and East Asian countries has its own variant of milk tea as the concentration and ratio of milk and tea will vary and the type of milk and black tea will differ depending on country. However, the Taiwan variant and the Japanese variant are quite close. This is because of their shared history (please google colonial Taiwan under Japanese rule to learn more) and the leaders of Taiwan in the old days (after they had to flee China when the communists won the civil war there) were educated in Japanese unis and military academy, which is why there is similarity in some types of foods, and certain Japanese words are borrowed into everyday Taiwanese Mandarin speech. Indeed, even before formal Japanese rule over Taiwan in WWII, Taiwan was seen as a spot for Japanese from Okinawa to do trade/business and attend a kind of early 20th century version of medical college. There's an academic book in English written about this titled "Liminality of the Japanese Empire" by a Japanese colonial history professor. [please note that I use British English, spelling, word definitions and colloquialisms may be different, e.g., what Americans calls "Asian" refers to East Asians, but in the UK and Commonwealth, "Asian" means people from people from Indian, Sri lanka (Ceylon), Pakistan and thereabouts as we call people of East Asian heritage "oriental" and no one feels any offence at that and I'm saying that an oriental myself.]
Thanks!!!! Canned milk tea is quite popular in Japan too, especially among those who enjoy a quick and tasty beverage. Cravi is not Japanese. Never heard of it.
@@experience_japan lol yea I've recently become addicted to Boba tea ..in front new Zealand they have stores in the mall close to food courts that make and sell them but they aren't cheap like 6-7 dollars a cup 😢 I usually get the make at home supermarket packet ones ( like 5-6 bucks for 8-10 servings ((both of tea and the Boba balls that often come in the syrup of the flavour you choose) you microwave the Boba balls in the packet then tip into cup add 2 blocks ice to cool then add milk and flavour tea sachet ..my fav is brown sugar Boba
The teriyaki chicken and egg sandwich is the best store sandwich I've ever had, to the point i was pretty much having one everyday 😅 I can't wait to get back over there and have another
Man everything but the oysters looked so delicious though I'm not sure about the Fish with cod row it reminded me of a crab leg lol. Also thank you for sharing your lunch with us.
Amazing video again and such a tranquil place to eat all those goodies. Think I'll pass on the smoked oysters tho they were not for me, everything else looked pretty tasty if not a little messy to eat lol. Looking forward to the next one 😊😊
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the scenery and the food (apart from the oysters, of course). Can't wait to share the next adventure with you! 😊
I thought onigiri was wrapped in seaweed. Thanks for the vid. Those were some new snacks I haven't seen. I'll pass on a couple. The cone looked really good and fun.
Yes, onigiri typically is wrapped in seaweed, but there are many variations! Glad you enjoyed the video and discovered some new snacks. The cone is definitely a fun treat to try!
Nice contrast to have this video along with your usual (but excellent!) travel themed ones. I went to Japan many years ago and the only convenience store I remember was Lawson (I think that's right?). I bought a lot of Pocari Sweat while visiting. I think the most strking thing about the convenience store food is how much care goes into presentation when compared with the slop you get in boxes in the west 😂 For a slim guy, I don't know where you put all this food! 😂
I appreciate the compliment on the variety of my videos! Lawson is definitely a memorable convenience store in Japan, and Pocari Sweat is a classic! You're right about the presentation of convenience store food in Japan; it's impressive compared to what we're used to in the West. As for where all the food goes, I guess that remains one of life's mysteries! 😂
At first I thought the egg was a block of cheese. 😅 And I got worried about your fish stick that it was going to break and fall on the ground. But you saved it. Also I loved that spot you picked to film, pretty and calm.😊
Haha, that's a funny mistake! I'm glad I managed to save the fish stick in time. Thank you for your kind words about the filming spot; I really love finding peaceful and beautiful places to share. 😊
I was in Shin-Yokohama last week for a concert and there was 2 7-elvens, 2 Lawson Family Mart, a Burgerking with in half a square block of my Hotel i was staying in. Talk about covenant. Now why can't the U.S cities do the same.
It really is convenient to have so many options so close! The density and variety of convenience stores and fast food outlets in Japanese cities are hard to match elsewhere. It’s a combination of high population density, customer demand, and urban planning that makes it work so well in Japan. Maybe one day, U.S. cities will adopt a similar approach!
I love how you can eat and eat . We don't eat at convenience stores. You get gas tobacco and drinks and alcohol and that's it. Where I live the stores don't carry food. Most of what you ate I've never heard of, but would love to try. I loved where you were sitting looking over the water it was beautiful. Love watching your videos can't wait until the next video. I have a question,Do you have lighthouses in Japan? Maybe stupid to ask just curious. You murdered that crepe 😂😂😂😂😂. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much for your lovely comment! I'm thrilled to hear you're interested in trying different foods. Yes, Japan has many beautiful lighthouses, and they're worth a visit for sure. Glad you enjoyed the crepe moment - it was quite the challenge! Can't wait to share more with you. 😊
For upcoming videos ,could you please add some extra info about if there're some artificial additives etc. or not in convenience stores' daily foods in japan?
Sore wa kombini desu. Ha! I am learning Japanese and I now know how to express that this is a convenience store! 😂 I am so proud! If there is any justice, my feet will graze the glorious Japanese soil.
The Family Mart here in China is almost the same but with products that are more Chinese. But the sandwiches and onigiri are still the same. I am sure the quality of the products in the Japanese stores are better though.
We have no Lawson or Seven Eleven or Family Mart here in France and it's a pity. I am addicted to Glico's Giant Caplico 🤤 It's not really the taste I like, it's the texture.
It's such a shame you don't have those convenience stores in France. Giant Caplico's unique texture is indeed something special! Hopefully, you can find a way to get your favorite treats or discover new ones locally.
Surprised to see the tomato juice in shop. I thought, it's not popular in Asia. This net of shops in Japan - Lawson, 7/11, FamilyMart - they are very comfortable for lone or lazy people for their food assortment and chip prices. I wish, once will have something like it in Russia.
Hi bro. Thank you so much for making great videos which we can see and relax without talking you give us every information needed. Just 2 recommendations from my end. Please upload regular videos (youtube will increase your reach ) and someday if you could give us a house tour of japan. Thanks much again for keeping peace in your videos ❤❤❤ love from India ( 1:22 AM )
everything looked so delicious and pleasing, It's just a shame i can't eat seafood/fish because i am allergic, but i want to try it so badly too! Thank you for another calming and wonderful video! Be safe and wonderful in your travels! Looking forward to the next adventure!
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. Sorry to hear about your allergy, but I hope you can find other delicious things to try. Stay safe and keep looking forward to more adventures!
Lol the guy ( or I think it was a guy) @4:32 on those rock things in front of you jumping across that mini river thing I thought he was gonna fall in I got distracted watching what you were eating ( went back to look .. looked like a scrambled egg thing in a packet) lol heat photobomb ever did he know he was in the shot ??
Lol, those unexpected moments definitely add a bit of adventure to the video! I'm glad you enjoyed the little surprise. And yes, you spotted it right - it was a scrambled egg thing in a packet. As for the photobomber, I don't think he realized he was in the shot, but it sure made for a memorable moment! 😂
That sounds like a great idea for a future video! Trying out different flavors of Strong Zero can be quite the adventure, given its variety and popularity. Thanks for the suggestion, and stay tuned! 😊
Legitimate question: Why are so many signs in Japan in English? Are there that many foreigners in Japan to need it? I remember going to Calcutta years ago and was surprised to see so many signs in that city in English but that's an exception in India because at least in the case of Calcutta, it was the British government capital in India. But why so many English signs in your videos of Japan. It's not like in America we have Japanese signs everywhere. Just asking. Love your videos.
Japan has many English signs because it aims to be accessible to international visitors and promote tourism. English is considered a global language, so it helps foreigners navigate more easily. Plus, Japan has hosted international events, encouraging more English signage. It's not just about the number of foreigners but making the country friendly to visitors from all over.
Thanks! I'm watching this while I'm enjoying my ramen in a bowl from the grocery store 😋

Boycott Coca Cola, Boycott everything until humanity is at peace
Haha, Boba tea is truly addictive! It's great that you've found a way to enjoy it at home. Brown sugar Boba sounds delicious 😋@@rachaelk7866
The teriyaki chicken and egg sandwich is the best store sandwich I've ever had, to the point i was pretty much having one everyday 😅 I can't wait to get back over there and have another
The melon frappe that you put milk and water into is a cool and delicious idea.🍈 Also you should visit kitakami sometime.
Thanks for the suggestion! The melon frappe is indeed refreshing. And Kitakami sounds like a great place to visit. 😊
Man everything but the oysters looked so delicious though I'm not sure about the Fish with cod row it reminded me of a crab leg lol. Also thank you for sharing your lunch with us.
Haha, the fish with cod roe isn't for everyone, but I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching. 😊
New subscriber here from the uk here
Welcome to the channel! I hope you find the videos both entertaining and informative. Looking forward to sharing more with you!
All of them catched my attention! *-*
Edit: even the place where you drink the frappe looks like a nice place to chill.
I'm so glad everything caught your eye! The café is indeed a cozy spot. Thanks for noticing!
Hey you... Yes you who's reading my comment... Pack your things, we are going to Japan!.
That tamago is my favorite.
Well I'm hungry now, after watching the video, I'm going to make a cheese sandwich because it's the easiest thing to do 😒🤓😂
I liked the video 🤎
Haha, sometimes the simplest meals are the best! Enjoy your sandwich, and thanks for the love! 😄
Dude, you really like that melon flavor!!! 😅😊
Oops, how did I get found out lol.
Which food did you not imagine the taste of?
None, I imagined them all! I did think the cod & cheese was going to be some sort of French fries though, because of the shape.
dashimaki tomago and seafood stick. Soo strange, wish I could try them. enjoyed this video, cool to see things I've never seen before.
I love these videos, I'm going back in May for the 2nd time and convenience store food was unbelievably good, thank you for the recommendations! :)
Beautiful, it's a shame that convenience stores don't exist from where I live 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
where in Tokyo? Which station? I also love he river!
Now i am hungry ...... need fooooooood.
Which city are you in? This is such a pretty place!
Familymart coffee is the best 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That was fun and interesting 😁😘✌️
Glad you enjoyed it
There is a ramen restaurant near me. My favorite is their shoyu tonkotsu ramen.
That sounds delicious! I love shoyu tonkotsu ramen too. It's the perfect combination of flavors.
Great video!
Thanks!
The crust is the best part of bread.
Totally agree! It adds the perfect crunch. 🍞
You must have a stomach of steel! I would have tapped out after the 3rd! 😳
Same! 😂 and went on a loooooooong walk
Thanks for the compliment! I guess it's all about practice. 😄
Lol “Family Mart”, makes it seem like only families can go in there 😂
The Family Mart here in China is almost the same but with products that are more Chinese.
Yippee!
For each item, you should rate them 1-10 for taste
Great idea! I'll think about incorporating ratings in future videos.
Beautiful women and beautiful place ! 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
The sandwich looks good!
Thanks! It was really tasty. 😋
6:09 that time u make my heart beat out
everything looked so delicious and pleasing, It's just a shame i can't eat seafood/fish because i am allergic, but i want to try it so badly too!
The cheese reminds me of string cheese! Obviously the Japanese one looks better 😂
I'm glad you noticed the cheese! Japanese versions of familiar foods often have a unique twist. Thanks for the fun comparison! 😂
I keep watching your videos since I'm hungry but I'm sick so everything tastes so unappetizing and disgusting. My mouth waters just from watch these 😅
I hope you feel better soon! Watching food videos can be a real tease sometimes. Take care!
waaait, Bandai actually made food??? 😂
can you try the different strong zero flavors next
That sounds like a great idea for a future video! Trying out different flavors of Strong Zero can be quite the adventure, given its variety and popularity. Thanks for the suggestion, and stay tuned! 😊
❤❤
As a pollo vegetarian i would eat the ones with egg maybe the chicken but thats it
💛💛💛
@@experience_japan thanks for answering my question!
Where's all the garbage and the screaming drunks? I'm so confused, everything's so clean, lol.
Lol, Japan's cleanliness is something else, right? Glad it impressed you!
