I gotta say, this worked, the freezer part fixed it. I dropped my LG v40 getting out of the car, picked it up and it seemingly worked fine, but later found out the prox sensor would make the screen go dark and stay that way. Tried all the reboots, a little light smacking, etc. Was reluctant to put it in the freezer but did for about 20 minutes while off and IT WORKED! I know lithium doesn't like cold so I'm guessing it had the same effect as not just rebooting but pulling the battery out. Thank you!

I fixed my KSOD (K is borrowed from the printing industry for "black") on my LG Stylo 5 Plus by running a plastic spudger down one side of the case; not opening the case wide open, just relieving a little bit of the pressure the back is applying to the innards. Some phones can be resurrected by squeezing them like the videos sometimes show, while some-*like mine*-get fixed by releasing and relieving pressure on the insides. Applying more or less pressure, it's about an *open* somewhere in the circuitry. It's pretty obvious that phone manufacturers have some work to do on finding and fixing this one.
Instant fix on the first try. Thanks. The problem might be a lack of free memory. Everyone should use the memory clean utility after getting their screen back.
Thanks a million, as much as I want freedom from this thing, I have separation trauma when it won't turn on. The first fix has worked now twice, within a few months between events.

@@check2572 Probably more humid outside than in the fridge. You do have condensation, but maybe outside the phone not inside it (unless somehow liquid is inside the phone).
In the freezer, certain parts contract or expand slightly, causing a contact to work again. In other situation, it prevents a heat-related issue from affecting the phone.
ur lcd screen is either not connected or damaged.....doing the stuff in this video won't fix a damaged lcd screen....u might be able to bang or press the connector back to the port on the mother board if it is loose

@@heatherbesocial sounds like you have a next level issue. Even if a phone appears to be in mint condition, one sizzled out circuit inside can still be there to ruin it from functioning. My issue with my LG K20stylo wasnt internal (or external) damage apparently.thankfully!

Hey man, my phone has a flickering screen, it blinks from time to time almost as the backlight just goes off, what would cause that? i've heard it's cuz of processor heating, my processor's temp is usually around 55-60 degrees during use of apps like snapchat etc. I wanna know do i have a faulty motherboard or is it an issue with the display? i dont want to go and replace the screen(which is gonna cost me a ton) come to find out the screen wasnt the thing causing the issue.
@@Andreamom001 dude i found the fix, you have to apply thermal paste on your board's processor, after applying the problem will remain for a month or two and after that it'll be gone! this worked for me and i hope it works for you guys too!

lol so funny. I was near tears, as I am stuck working from home and suddenly got a black screen. The moment I did the power with volume at about .35 seconds into your video the screen came on. TY. I still don't know what happened. Battery was about 24 percent. It felt hot. I ended a phone call and then nothing but a black screen. I tried holding the power button to restart but it didn't restart and no screen came up. But it works now.

Wow. Tried the power reset without any luck on my G8X ThinQ. Proceeded to watch and see the pressing in on the screen, back side, etc., and thought, "Well, there's nothing else I can do", and what do you know I got display again. Knew it wasn't a power or battery issue because I could unlock the phone (knew where my pattern was) and it would make the respective sound. I could also still hear notifications and it would ring if someone called it. Never thought about a loose connection, very helpful.
