i've been watching your covers for a quite a while now and i have to say every single one is superb every little detail is spot on your playing is just incredible sir. If you don't mind a suggestion for a future cover how about yngwie's overture 1383 i can't seem to find a cover of it and i'm sure you would nail that aswell. Greetings from germany🎉
Finest shred solo of the 70's, you can find some of the licks that would later be played by Malmsteen and Friedman here. Wonderful cover, and the intro is just very well done.
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight would love analysis videos from you - between you and David Brewster over at LateNightLessons i've improved my playing by ear massively
I'm acually going to have to come back to this in order to comment properly. As a massive Uli fan, this is something else. Fantastic is not going to do you any justice . Jesus
This is an amazing song. For sure one of Scorpions and Ulis best. And you really nailed it. The guitar tone is even spot on as far as my ears can make out. I really enjoyed this!
Brilliant interpretation, Peter. Beautiful intro/prelude, as well. As always, thank you for the time you took in learning and mastering this, and the care and detail you put into producing/recording and sharing this with us.
This is by far one of my fave youtube channels. Always amazed by your content. Also love how good you explain the gear used on the description box. Cheers amigo
Τhat black and white strat , with the maple neck and the black background.... Great job man! Uli ( i have seen him recently in a gig here in Thessaloniki) , Blackmore and Schenker are my favourite players.Keep playing man🎸🎸🎸
Hats off brother! That was simply amazing!!!!! You nailed it realy perfectly, but both of us know, to WRITE/CREATE a wonderful musical piece or to cover/copy it, in between there is a huge difference. Of course that is not about you, you have done your job absolutely perfectly, and - tho I saw you actually for the first time - I will push the subscribe button. 👍 And it's realy not 'cause I' m Peter too. 😂😅
Amazing cover, for sure the best one of this music so far. Thanks for your hard work and for bringing us this masterpiece! It's not "Pictured Life" but still one of my favorites XD
Somehow his solo stuff and vocals never clicked with me. But I heard one incredible piano instrumental on one of those records ... I'd love to try it on guitar
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight Thanks for all the efforts you put into this material, and they are obvious and clear. Probably that is why I have requested Perpetual. It can't be found anywhere on the internet covered with such attention to details and accuracy. The other selfish reason it that it is my favorite epic instrumental due to the consistency of its phrases. I won't give up hope for may be in the future you will surprise us all with it. Cheers.
@@Zunder77 No worries. I've covered it before for my students. I would love to do it here if I get the time, because his tone on F&I is incredibly good, it was recorded here in Sweden. So we'll see.
@@ClassicSoloSpotlightAny chance to revisit some of his really early demo material from mid/late '70s 'Powerhouse' and early '80s Rising Force, before he left Sweden? That would be really cool! :D Congrats on your really amazing content, btw!

Thank you Pedda. Overture 1383 is coming. Count on it.
Nobody played licks like this really other than uli. So incredible for 1977.
crazy how far ahead of everyone else he was back then. very unique player
Indeed.
I agree.
In my opinion Uli was the first neoclassical shredder. Love him!

Still is today in my opinion.

Thank you. Several key concepts in "Sails" laid important foundations for future players. Stay tuned for an analysis video.
You mean you can find Roth licks in Malmsteen’s and Friedman’s work.

Definitely what I meant 😅.
You can find the original licks here.
I should have said Uli's licks.
I edited it to be more factual.
I always regarded this song as Germany's answer to Deep Purple.
Brilliant
I’d tweak it as Germany’s answer to Rainbow. Meine’s really channels his inner Dio
Peter, rock'n Sweden with accurate covers of some fantastic guitar players. Your students are lucky to have a great guitar teacher. 🎸
Thanks mate
This Peter Lidström is quite amazing !!!

Awesomeness...
Sickest guitar intro ever!
one more great cover you've made Peter !! this intro is fabulous like the Uli's guitar playing. Félicitations
Merci Antoine. Yes, that intro was the hardest part of the song. That 12-fret octave slide ... à la prochaine
Pure awesomeness dude 🤪
Just such a unique song, using a solo as the rhythm. 🎶 you can’t get it out of your head
The best version on TH-cam!!! Congratulations
Amazing as always, Uli definitely one of the greats. I love little savage. You kicked ass.
Thank you!
Your covers are ridiculously precise and well-played. Loads of finesse and touch 👏

Excelente interpretación!! Que modelo es tu Strat?
Aucun modèle, c'est un "Partscaster". Je l'ai assemblé moi-même.

Any chance of you doing any Tony MacAlpine?
There are a few I'd like to do at some point.
sails of charon and gates of babylon has the same sound, kinda like middleeastern sound.
As an intermediate player, how long would this take to learn?
Next one : Gates Of Babylon by Rainbow

Your strat has 22 frets. Is it a Player Series ?
I assemble my own strats, necks are 9.5" US standards
1:41 Is that a Zelda like melody I hear?
