You can tell that this guy really loves Yngwie's music. I have never seen a cover of this song this good. The solo is long as hell, and he learned it note for note!
Or, maybe this guy IS Yngwie? We can't see his face.Just saying. That's a huge compliment, BTW. The playing is flawless. This guy's picking technique is obviously different.
Back in the 80s GP magazine used to publish the sheet for a tune or two for a guitarist, I will never forget my dad sitting there drinking coffee on a winter morning and nearly spitting it out. He got up, grabbed another month's offering and said "check this out, this is Clapton and THIS is some Malmsteen character, do you realize how fast that is?" I just looked at him and said "Dad.. Its Yngwie, you have to see it to believe it" I got a hold of other stuff and the old man would just look and shake his head " no way... no way that's real" As soon as he realized Yngwie played a Strat he grew fond of him despite his disbelief.
I've never heard such accurate covers of anything off of this album. Peter's covers go beyond the accuracy of the notes - it's the dynamics, pick slides, trills, harmonics, vibrato, the way certain chords are played, all of it. Just brilliant.
vero in parte ,lui molto bravo ma c'è qualcosa nei fraseggi che non mi convince del tutto ,forse mette poco di suo sembra una registrazione, direi un po' meccanico
Fantastic cover. My favorite part of this song is 3:50. I always imagine Yngwie returning to the main riff and then deciding, "nah, screw it, I'm going to solo a bit more".
I had this cassette in 8th grade just after it first came out. The whole album is a masterpiece and I’ve listened to it very closely at least 1000 times, but to hear someone play “this” song so well, I’m just blown away that it’s not Yngwie himself. Just excellent skills. Bravo.
I never thought I'd see those solos played so perfectly by anyone other than the maestro himself. Wow. Thank you for not cheating us on all the little nuances that Yngwie used there.
Yep , if someone could cover Yngwie it is Peter Lidstrom whom I remember covered Uli Roth’s Sails of Caron , Deep Purple’s Pictures of Home , Peter’s the Man , That’s Awesome 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Never heard of Peter before but this is amazing. He nails this note for note. Marching Out is my favorite Yngwie album and this is probably my favorite tune by him. 10/10 for covers.
This is the absolute BEST cover I've ever heard of this solo. It was perfectly faithful to the recording. Amazing ! Please do a tutorial of this song.. PLEASE.
Dayummm... this was a badass cover! I used to practice 8+ hours a day when I was a junior in high school, when this album came out. I was obsessed and Yngwie was my guitar God. In fact, because of his influence I majored in classical guitar in the mid-late 80s. This is one of my favorites. Your cover is spot-on and even though I went on to do my own thing that wasn't neo-classical, I still remember the awesomeness of that era. If anyone would know how flawless your performance of this piece is, it would be a guy who used to play it. You are awesome and very likely did a better job of playing this tune than I did. Kudos to you!
Love these old stories. Thanks for the kind words and good job getting that major. Christopher Parkening was a major classical inspiration back in the day.
Yet another amazing interpretation of an Yngwie classic. Fantastic job, Peter. Your playing of this very challenging piece displays wonderful precision, articulation, timing, vibrato and nuance. Please keep recording and uploading these great performances of virtuoso electric guitar music...they are very much enjoyed and appreciated.
@@ClassicSoloSpotlight Aptly put; to learn these solos and capture the feel, which I've always maintained is Yngwie's greatest talent, shows an undeniable respect and work-ethic. If you have transcriptions and you'd be willing to sell copies please let me know; all the best.
Just was gifted with the algorithm recommending your channel. Absolutely blown away by your Becker and Yngwie covers. Amazing quality and attention to detail. You set the bar high for the rest of us. All the best!
wOw, and he did it windmill picking like Pete Townsend and no scalloping. Are you using 8's. That was Amazing, like proudly watching some one achieve my dream and understanding how hard they worked to do it. Millions have tried to do what you just did over the last 40 years, a hand full have achieved it.
Man, you are really good at pull offs! Especially with the tone you are using, which is unforgiving! Good freaking job! Not only for this, but for all your covers!
I just subscribed and liked the video!! You got good skills, definitely the best cover of this song I've seen so far over the years.. the only thing that's a little bit off is the groovy part of the rhythm is supposed to kind of have a bluesy swing to it... Nobody ever gets that part right for some reason. All the lead guitar playing was incredible.
Very cool !!! I remember when this album came out. It was a must have back then. Hell, even now. 😆 The weed back then really helped to enhance it all. That singer could really scream. I really wish David Wayne of Metal Church and Yngwie would have done something together. I believe it would have had enough of an evil sound that it would be classic. Peace to you and all you do jamming out.
Excellent! You're very dare cause there isn't many people that play this difficult piece as well as original.I think Yngwie improvised more than 70% and he couldn't remember right now.
Thank you. Indeed, this is one of my favorite Yngwie solos to play, it has a lot of interesting dynamics, peaks and valleys. Yngwie played some amazing improv solos on Marching Out. Ironically with a picking hand in pain during recordings.
Just now saw that you use a decent amount of hybrid picking, never seen any other shredder use that technique for 3 notes per string and diminished arpeggios, it's very impressive.
You can tell that this guy really loves Yngwie's music. I have never seen a cover of this song this good. The solo is long as hell, and he learned it note for note!
One of my favorite tunes from the album.
Exactly, it's amazing how he nailed it!
Or, maybe this guy IS Yngwie? We can't see his face.Just saying.
That's a huge compliment, BTW. The playing is flawless. This guy's picking technique is obviously different.
YNGWIE IS the pillar of rock music. The timing, the tone, the subtilities, He has a lot of power lying in his hairs. Fast cars and scalloped frets.
Back in the 80s GP magazine used to publish the sheet for a tune or two for a guitarist, I will never forget my dad sitting there drinking coffee on a winter morning and nearly spitting it out. Yes, the strat does seem to cross over the generational gaps.
Let’s not forgot how amazing Jeff is!!!!
I really wish Yngwie kept him as a permanent singer.
totally agree with you, Jeff fokin rule
I've never heard such accurate covers of anything off of this album. Peter's covers go beyond the accuracy of the notes - it's the dynamics, pick slides, trills, harmonics, vibrato, the way certain chords are played, all of it. Just brilliant.
Thank you for the kind words Richard.
Absolutely, couldn't agree more!!!
And the sound, to me he sounds like Yngwie used to sound in the good olddays.
vero in parte ,lui molto bravo ma c'è qualcosa nei fraseggi che non mi convince del tutto ,forse mette poco di suo sembra una registrazione, direi un po' meccanico
Marching Out is my all time favorite Malmsteen album!
One of his best solos imho, and so well executed.
As a mini-composition the solo is a masterpiece.
Def gave me many a chill back in the Day and still amazing to this day
We love yngwie malmsteens covers, please, play a lot of him...
This solo for me is like a Bach composition; goosebumps solo from 1985 to this present day for me, and you nailed every note of it!!
Agreed... the first time I heard that I thought "THAT SHTS IMPOSSIBLE" Then I saw the sheet music and realized a lot of Yngwie stuff is impossible. 😀
I can’t get enough of this video
Fantastic cover. My favorite part of this song is 3:50. I always imagine Yngwie returning to the main riff and then deciding, "nah, screw it, I'm going to solo a bit more".
man to transcribe Yngwie solos its not easy , so much nuance in the fast runs , congrats ! this is probrably the best yngwie cover i saw ever.
You are correct, it's not easy to transcribe, especially the older material. Thank you for the kind words.
I had this cassette in 8th grade just after it first came out. The whole album is a masterpiece and I’ve listened to it very closely at least 1000 times, but to hear someone play “this” song so well, I’m just blown away that it’s not Yngwie himself. Just excellent skills. Bravo.
Thank you sir.
Best YMs song: great riff, great lyrics, great vocals, crazy improvised solos.
Top 5 Yngwie solo. This album has some great ones.
I never thought I'd see those solos played so perfectly by anyone other than the maestro himself. Wow. Thank you for not cheating us on all the little nuances that Yngwie used there.
my favorite Yngwie solo of all time!!!
you are AMAZING!🔥🖤🕊️

Marching out is one of the best album with many good tracks gave off unique tone and feeling. You nailed it.
Now tell me YJM didn't write monster rythm riffs... this is one of my faves and probably my favourite Malmsteen album. Well done!
Thank you my good fellow.
If i close my eyes i'm feel like hearing the original track, well done!!
Man you played it dry. No delay or verb to hide your mistakes.
You ROCK, and i say well done.
Amen to that. Thank you.
❤ reminded of just how great yngwie was. Great job, killer tone.
Thank you. No one was even close back in '85
I like this underrated channel. You deserve more members.
Never heard of Peter before but this is amazing. He nails this note for note. Marching Out is my favorite Yngwie album and this is probably my favorite tune by him. 10/10 for covers.
This must be the best guitar tone ever, great job man I discovered ut channel today
Thanks.
Jaw-dropping cover even todays malmsteen can't play like this..
Every time I listen It gets me going. Your execution and attention to the precise authentic sound with effects and tone is Deadly.
Marching Out, Rising Force & Trilogy are Yngwie at his very best and every cover I've seen you do so far you absolutely nail it man...AWESOME!!!
That main riff is absolutely awesome, love it
Ladies and Gents, Peter plays it note for note........with an Unscalloped neck.....Thank you very much!
You're very welcome!
One of the best of Yngwie 👍
This is the absolute BEST cover I've ever heard of this solo. It was perfectly faithful to the recording. Amazing !
Please do a tutorial of this song.. PLEASE.
Yngwie’s seal of approval here.
Nice

Me too, and I've seen some good ones. Seriously one take? Dude's on fire.
Great cover, my favorite instrumental of his. Best outro
you have climbed the pinnacle and reached the summit, allowing me to enjoy the view - thanks!!
Thank you. If I've reached the summit it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
