Anton Newcombe of BJM has taken up the baton from Peter Kember, Jason Pierce and Will Carruthers (Spacemen 3) .. all good bands are influenced by and perform with each other as a hobby cos they love the sound
Every great artist, scientist or philosopher has got there by standing on the shoulders of the great men before them. That's just how it is,, I think. I also just caught the era where i bought Spacemen 3 as a new release. So glad i still get a kick listening to this today, decades later. Only quality music bears the brunt of time.
I got this albulm when it came out. Its easily the albulm I've played the most throughout the seasons of my life. Its been a fine companion. I love Pat Fish's little flute solo at the end.
@@chop471 no more rock fans whining about "bands selling out" and would like to keep it that way. But I'll feel really bad for the kids who get into this music. It can come back as this song mixes alt rock, psychedelia and EDM. And kids these days love electronic music which Spacemen 3 took advantage of in their prime as this song shows.
I bought this cassette in 91 at Goodwill in Claremore, Oklahoma. I had never heard of them, but I thought the cover was cool. VERY pleasantly surprised!
I love this song and Pete and J but it always makes me think of Transvision Vamp's "Baby I Don't Care" played at the wrong speed. In a good way. Seriously though, this is the mustard. Something has gone.
Rugby gave it's name to a great kickball and football game, it goes back hundreds of years in Scottish, Welsh and English history .. Pete Kember, Jason Pierce and Will Carruthers and lots of other members all hail from Rugby, Winchester, Hampshire, England, UK .. first heard this song driving through the Nevada desert heading toward AZ while it was golden hour.. awesome experience
Nice image.
Hearing this music for the first time, anywhere, with anyone, at the right time is likely to elevate your day. All the best bud.
The bassist is unquestionably the main star here
My fingers would cramp up if I had to hold down that synth note for the whole track.
that's why tape was invented @@Mansin
This song reminds of Voyage Of Triste, even at the end when they add the flute and bass combo…just like from album Inner Mystique.
Always makes me smile the amount of people commenting about drug experiences under spacemen 3 songs they really did make music to take drugs to
The Velvet Underground , re-incarnated in Rugby, Warwickshire. I bought this album when it came out. There was magic in the air, back then. xxx

Are you from Drugby ?
Peter Kember's side of Recurring is some of the best dream pop ever made. Recurring in general is still underrated as an S3 album.
Are you talking about the first half of the album?
Space rock, not dream pop.

Passing through the 60s in to the 20s...
I love the 'Duppy Conqueror' references in this song.
Paul McCartney would be jealous of this bass line
Paul McCartney isn't jealous of ANY bass line!! ;) It is amazing though. Super chill
@ertraccia ain't that the truth
It's the The Troggs' "Wild Thing"! No wonder it sounds good.
@@andrewpoirier8163 yes he is ... hes a musician true and true... you heard of the beach boys?
Has the Rain/Taxman style. Really catchy, I learn this years ago
Rock needs to be central to our culture again
That's never gonna happen... And that's okay.
I mean i get it but you sound like you're from the stone age

We psychedelia to become influential again. That'd make a load of styles of music more interesting.
@@agdgdgwngo has psychedelia has always been incredibly influential, a lot of genres nowadays like cloud rap take queues from it
I've been sittin' here thinkin'
Listenin' to my radio..
Well I've been sittin' here all week
Now I've gotta get up and go...
Let's go!
best part
Really cool band like all uploads for them. Worth tripping in woods to for sure.
Hahaha that’s the plan!!!
accidentally played this while on shrooms....took me on a journey :)
Did you play the guitar bass or drums?

Still masterpiece.
Pre Spiritualized!

I thought I was a weirdo for liking this music. So glad I'm not the only one
how about that little flute solo so cool
The troggs wild thing
Courtesy of the late great Pat Fish of Jazz Butcher! ❤🌈🌠
Haha! There's no room for a flute in Rock 'n Roll. Jethro can eat it.
you know bars could not hold me
Riff reminds me of "Wild Thing" (Troggs).
When the times are tough I can always count on Sonic Boom
Honey I love you!
Resevation dogs brought me here :)
Me too! Great show, great song! 👍
My jaw fuckin dropped when this opened up episode three!

Fucking love this
sonic's side
I LOVE THIS TRACK! However, the dead air at the end of this track gets reallly obnoxious if you add this song on a playlist, that’s for sure.
