Within the first minute of this song, I cried. I would like to get some Chinese music to listen to on my way to work so I could remain at peace. So often, people lose themselves in what is farce, this song speaks volumes to me. There is much pain and suffering in the world, and sometimes there is no better way to express emotion except through music. It is sad to me that the world is changing, and losing it's "tradition". As it seems the simple life was more satisfying to the soul.
this is so peaceful, this is a good way to escape the music we live in today like pop, hip hop, rock, and techno. it a very good way to calm down or put you in a good mood :)
Music like this tells a story in everyone's mind. You can tell the purpose of a song like this in many ways. Whether it be the speed of the song or the instruments that are used to play it.
Even tough it has only two strings the erhu can create beautiful music that invokes in the listeners mind the picture that was in the composer's mind when they wrote the score for the piece of music. I listen to a wide range of music but this instrument for me is above the violin in capturing the soul of the song put in to the work by the composer.

I am not Asian at all, but I am fascinated by their culture, their music, and I love their food and a lot of times their ideas more than Americans. Technically, I'm NOT really an American anyways, but an American-citizen as I was born in Ancon, Republic of Panama, as my mother was, and well, I came here when young, since my father is an American. Most of my family (on my mother's side, that is) is hispanic.
Oh my gosh......this music is making me crying......*sniff*.......I am totally crying right now people.....this music made me think of this one japanese anime series and it was about this one great handsome prince guy who secretly fall in love with this princess from another province.....but somehow at the end, this prince guy died for her because......because.....because......his love for the princess wasn't return.......*sniffing hard*.......gosh, my tear is running down my cheeks so fast...
But, the thing is that I seem to be more into Asian people and their culture and traditions, etc. than my own. It's just they can be so polite and respectful and so full of honor and I love their language and their physical beauty. Basically, I'm obsessed and wish I were also Asian along with being hispanic because I am still proud to be Panamanian and there are also MANY hispanic people who are beautiful, too. Sorry I talk so much. I tend to get on a roll and once I start can't seem to stop.*o*
Few days ago, i don't know why but I realized that japanese & chinese cultures are just miles above european ones in term of art. i mean, just by looking at the music, the architecture, or even the language, you can feel art everywhere. It's such a shame to see how the world evolved, leaving behind all that was beautiful for the sake of money :( (But that's how we are...)
enough complaining. lets fight to make the world balanced again. it isn't impossible, nothing is. its just hard but together we can achieve it. my friends and me have already helped alot in this world. what will you do?

It doesn't mean moon light. Yang guan（阳关） is a pass fortified by emperor Wu of the Western Han dynasty. You can probably guess what 'parting at Yang Guan pass' is now. yue guang （月光）is moonlight.
