This is a terrific list. Several that I've enjoyed already and a bunch that are on my TBR. The library just called to tell me that Thunderclap came in. 😊
Lovely to see a celebration of reading Ros! And great to hear about Wandering Stars - especially as it's now on the Booker list! I'm so excited for it. There There was on a list of top books of 21st century I saw on Instagram and it put him on the map for me! Soldier Sailor is definitely up there for me too this year!
I loved Thunderclap such a beautiful and interesting read.❤I re-listened to Small Joys again recently and Muddy bought me so much comfort. I still love him so much. Brotherless Night is one of my faves of the year so far too, I completely agree❤ Lovely to hear about your reading Ros ❤
So many great books! Thanks for this. You have reminded me of some to prioritize on my TBR (books by Matar, Almada, Hammad, and Selby Wynn Schwartz). I wish you happy reading in the second half of the year!
Selva Almada is wonderful - her non fiction book Dead Girls is also superb, but also quite upsetting. I thought it was just as good as her novels. Oh and thank you for mentioning me - looking forward to The White Book!
Great to see/hear ya 😊 I'd do the tag but all I've been reading is _Ulysses,_ w the group, rock bios, and crime fiction (buddy read new James Lee Burke, remember your love for him?¿?) 😂😮😅 You read the new Lispector! Hurrah 😊 Cant wait for your review ⏰ Yea, Katie!
I really really must read Still Born & Thunderclap & oh Brotherless night.. its been a *very* un prolific reading year thus far so fingers crossed i get my mojo back second half 🤷♀Great video Ros 🧐😊
@@melissahouse1296 obviously I think all three are worth your time. But I also believe we should enjoy the books we get to and not fret about the infinite number of others out there that we don't 😃
I have been in such a mood for memoirs so Thunderclap and A Flat Place sound especially intriguing! Lovely to hear about the wide variety of books you have read so far this year. ❤️

@@readandre-read thanks. I hope you love Thunderclap as I did. I am resolved on an arty pilgrimage to the Netherlands as a result.

Sounds like a wonderful reading year so far, Ros. I really loved Welcome to St Hell. I adore Angela Harding's illustrations - they are stunning!
