Have had mine for 7+ years and damn proud of my 2016 carbon fiber and TVD model. With a few mods, it does everything well. It is not top-tier numbers car, but taking it to the race track or giving a joy ride to my two small kids, it excels at everything and sounds incredible while at it.

What's the mpg like with that? I'm kinda debating getting this or some kind of BMW with a b58 and I like the tunability of the b58. But this would be my daily.
As an owner of a very well maintained IS, my next is definitely an RC-F. I tell myself I would settle for a RC350 F-Sport but I know I would have to have an RC-F. I'm amazed at how fast you mob the streets of NYC. I never thought that would be possible. Be safe because people can't drive.
Thank you, my brother! It’s interesting because you’re going through the same exact phase I had. I was contemplating between an RC350 and a RCF. I knew i’d regret not getting the RCF, so I went for it. Also, thanks bro! Many people can not drive indeed, but as long as you’re paying attention, memorizing the imperfections on the road/highways, then it’s not too bad! Thank you for the support, bro! I appreciate you!
I literally went from a Civic to the RCF 😂 with no regrets. I had a 97 BMW 528i back in the day and loved how planted it felt and the overall ride quality. I went to Honda for reliability but it felt like I was driving a paper plate on a windy day so now I get the best of both worlds in a single car- reliability, power, and decent ride quality.
Ayee, that’s really dope bro! Hondas are great cars! Super reliable! Glad you’re enjoying your RCF, bro! It’s definitely heavy enough to withstand the windy days 😂😅
I also went from a Civic (2013 Si coupe) to a 2017 RCF. I now wish I kept the Civic because I miss the manual transmission, but other than that I have no regrets.
Yeah gsf is a good daily car, i use mine to commute during summer. The fuel economy around town is like 18mpg max in eco babying it like a prius. But you can get 28 on the highway.
Being 1 for shorter, RCF is stiffer and a bit sharper. There is a guy who owns both (with an LC as well) and summed it up perfectly on TH-cam. Chassis is more than 50% as stiff according to Lexus press release. Also has a, lower center of gravity because it is 3 inches lower. The short wheelbase on the RCF makes it more responsive, but the compromise is all of the space and practicality that GSF has. I bought an RCF sine I have two other Lexus cars to cover the practical side of things. I have two small kids and RCF is plenty fun to haul the two kids in their baby seats. I own an RCF CF and TVD while the 2019 IS350 F-Sport does all of the practical work.
@@2ZZGE100 I would add a couple of things being a gsf owner. 1. If you decide on the rcf make sure it has the tvd. These cars need lots of suspension and bushing help without it. 2. I think the rcf has way better lines and proportions. 3. Everyone who has lapped both in anger says there isn't more than .5 sec difference stock to stock; pretty amazing considering how different the cars and how they are on different platforms.
Love the rcf man, this car has been totally worth it for me, I tried to get financing for an isf but no one wanted to finance me because of how old they are, I'm about to buy some Kansei hypersilvers next once my coilovers go on. I figured out what the clicking was on my car, it was the CVT axle but luckily all that's under warranty lol
Thank you, bro! And that sucks bro, but i’m glad you as able to figure out what the clicking one and i’m sure those kansei hypersilvers are gonna look 🔥 once you mount them with your coils bro
You had better buy one soon! The RCF will likely be discontinued either this year or next, and good luck finding one at a decent price after that. It has already been discontinued in most European countries due to the V8. The GSF was discontinued in North America in 2020 and you can't find one anywhere, if you do the price is way up.
Another tip is if you're going to mod your rcf the best choice is the 2015 model cause later models ecu's haven't been cracked yet. That's why you dont see any above 2019 that get supercharged.
2022 here love mine so far. ML amp cutouts annoying at times but has been reported and logged at the dealer to ensure it is properly addressed. I also have an X3M ///M (S58 engine) in the stable as well. I knew what I was getting with the RCF and It performs as expected.Hell I first laid eyes on mine at a Caffeine and Octane car show on display for Nalley Lexus. I sat in it revved it at the show, and later tracked it down to the dealer and bought it. Closest thing to my 2012 ///M3 that I could find- with Japanese reliability. Also show me another Japanese Coupe with a V8? I’ll wait🤔 Lastly, a dealer here in Atlanta had a new 2024 RCF - it only sat on the floor for about 2 weeks before being sold..
There aint a lot left on the table with the f cars. Yeah you can tweak the exhaust for some more top end. But if you look at the torque curve its flat to increasing to redline. You cant stroke the motor bc the compression ratio is already 12.3:1. It has port and direct injection so there no lack of fuel that can be solved with bigger injectors. The intake is very free flowing bc the engine was built with top end in mind. The heads already flow pretty great. Yeah you can supercharge it, but i heard some engines are popping, not sure why, but im guessing from detonation bc of the sky high compression ratio. So you prolly need e85 permanently at least.
