How can anyone land with thrust reverses deployed in the air???

This was a simulation. Reversers are deployed shortly after touch down. Can reverser's be deployed before touch down on landing? Yes--on the Trident it could be done by skillful pilots to save brakes from being overheated. Only a very few did it---I was one of them. Smooth landings ,by the way!
