I've just come across this which is, without doubt, the best collection of Railway photographs of the Bolton area. I used Bradley Fold Station if the buses were on strike when I was an apprentice at Dobson and Barlows. I think the last passanger train to use the station was the Royal Train to Bolton when the Queen visited in 1967 (ish)
if you go on google maps and search queens hotel bradley lane bolton and go on street view you can see the trackbed on the other side of the road. the station was right there.
From 1944 to 1970 lived there,playing in and on the station and goods yard .Many a train journey was made to Bolton.Was a good journey
