As an American I usually get a kick out of their answers to questions about US history and geography, even though I'd be much worse about UK history and geography. But I felt great sympathy for the guy who went out with Newfoundland, which I thought was a great answer. Turns out they changed it to Newfoundland and Labrador in 2001, a gesture that anticipated this show by being Pointless.
No offense... But like I'm not really sure how good Americans are with their own history, granted you could learn it all on one page of a history book...
@@JOLT_x3 No offense... but you brits have never even won an SEC Championship, so we certainly won't take offense to your nonsense.......
@@jass8265 damn thas a so true mb 😔
I am surprised no one talks about the jackpot being just thousand pounds
There should be an American version hosted by brad rutter and james holzhauer
I found them using state/province interchangably acceptable, however territories as provinces/states was a tad too much for Yukon/Nunavut but chuckled when the host said "Sorry Newfoundland is not a Canadian state." I
Surprised at the one pointless answer in States round, that was one of the first I thought of. It's not just USA States, though.
Love this show🎉
I'm pleasantly surprised that everyone involved pronounced Oregon correctly.
Canada doesn't have states, but Nunavut isn't even a province, it's just a territory. If you're gonna count that, don't you also have to count Guam?
Richard clarified at start that it's Canadian provinces or territories. 4 US states aren't states either including Kentucky (a low score listed).
They explicitly said they accept Canadian territories. They didn’t say the same for the US.
@@partypat21 Yes, Richard mentioned that Canadian territories are included. I should note (being Canadian) that the designation of a territory in Canada is completely different from the same designation in the US. Territories in the Canadian sense are fully integrated into the country and enjoy the same rights as provinces, albeit their governance is handled more directly by the federal government. Territories in the US sense are completely different (eg, their residents have no voting rights). Given this distinction, it makes perfect sense that “Canadian territories” are included but “US territories” are not.
Regarding Kentucky, it actually is a state. The “commonwealth” designation is more of a formality with no legal significance - see en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commonwealth_(U.S._state)

But... Canada doesn't have states.
Richard clarified that they were looking for a Canadian Province or Territory. He incorrectly identified Nunavut as a Province though.
All that work for £500, I’d of stayed at work. 😂
I'd call put of work for £500; plus that's almost £800 in today money...
