use slender HOLLOW tubes for the frame. bamboo is ideal. have more than one person be the holder of the string, more people, more umph on the takeoff. use light cloth instead of paper. and you had the right idea with the cycle...try instead a ride on mower or an e-bike.
Bridle point needs to be moved up - a lot. Box kites can b flown with a single bridle point, but you do gain a bit more 'lull' range if you use two bridle points. You can also try using a larger cell on top and a smaller cell on bottom. Big box kites don't need to be symetrical.

another great idea is add several helium balloons on the box insides. added stabilization and lift and not that expensive.
