Announcement Date:
Definition: The announcement date is the day on which a company officially declares and announces important information or events, such as dividends, bonus issues, stock splits, or any other corporate actions.
Explanation: On the announcement date, the company communicates to the public and its shareholders about upcoming events that may affect the ownership or value of the company's securities. This information is crucial for investors to stay informed about the company's decisions.
Record Date:
Definition: The record date, also known as the "date of record," is the specific date on which a shareholder must officially own shares to be eligible to receive a dividend, bonus, or other corporate benefits.
Explanation: If you own shares on the record date, you are considered a registered shareholder, and you are entitled to any corporate actions announced by the company. It is the cutoff date for determining which shareholders are eligible for the benefits.
Ex-Date (Ex-Dividend Date, Ex-Bonus Date, etc.):
Definition: The ex-date, or ex-dividend date, is the date on or after which a security is traded without the right to receive the most recently declared dividend or other corporate benefits.
Explanation: If you buy shares on or after the ex-date, you will not be entitled to the recently declared dividend or other corporate actions. The ex-date is typically set a few days before the record date to allow for the settlement of trades. Investors need to be aware of the ex-date when planning to buy or sell securities around the time of a corporate action.
Face Value:
Definition: Face value is the nominal stated by the issuer. It is the value of a stock or bond as specified by the issuing company.
Example: If a company issues shares with a face value of $10, each share is initially worth $10.
Split:
Definition: A stock split is a corporate action that increases the number of shares outstanding while decreasing the price per share. It does not change the overall market value of the company.
Example: In a 2-for-1 stock split, for every share you own, you receive an additional share. If you had 10 shares before the split, you would have 20 shares after, but the value of each share would be half.
Dividend:
Definition: A dividend is a payment made by a company to its shareholders, usually in the form of cash or additional shares. It's a portion of the company's profits distributed to the shareholders.
Example: If you own shares in a company that pays a $0.50 dividend per share, and you own 100 shares, you would receive $50 as a dividend.
Bonus:
Definition: A bonus issue (or stock bonus) is when a company issues additional shares to existing shareholders without receiving any payment in return. It's a way for a company to reward its shareholders.
Example: If you own 100 shares in a company and they declare a 1-for-1 bonus issue, you would receive an additional 100 shares for free.
Buyback:
Definition: A stock buyback (or share repurchase) occurs when a company buys its own shares from the open market. This reduces the number of outstanding shares and can be a way for a company to return value to shareholders.
Example: If a company repurchases 1,000 of its own shares from the market, those shares are taken out of circulation, and the total number of outstanding shares decreases.

Summary
Face value - value decided per share during the company established. It will be changed only when shares split.
Announcement date- the day on which bonus/devidend/split announced,
record date - after trading the day on which shares credited to demat account
ex- bonus date - date before which the traded values are added
Bonus - ratio between shares given per number of shares (1:2, if u have 2 shares then 1 share given as bonus)
Dividend
Split - face value indirectly proportional to number of shares. Ex : if u want to double the number of shares then u will spilt the face value to half
Buy back - the company we are gonna buy back ur share with some percentage more.

Hi Day trader Telugu, Thank you for the clear cut explanation. little confusion on bonus. first u said it's free share given by company and also said, number of shares will be increase but proportionally share price is decreased, that means investors won't get profit from bonus? could you please clarify?
After bonus shares , say 1:1 , market value of share will be 50%, but your account instead of 1 share, you have 2 shares, it will result in 2 times the face value ( not market value of share), so next year, your dividend amount which depends on face value will be doubled. Next, from the company point of view, the equity value will increase
Immediately after the issue of bonus shares, the share value will decrease, but again it starts to go up (of course, depending on the performance). Since your number of shares increased, the total value will increase accordingly.
But you need to be patient and should not resort to panic selling.

If total value remains same after bonus(reducing face value and increasing no.of shares), how can we call it as bonus?

I have two doubts :
1. Why company opt for Split. what are the advantages/effects/consequences for Both(company and investor)...?
2. Why company want to buy back? Is there any particular reason(fundamentally) for buyback.?
PS: I can search them on internet and get the doubts cleared and not bothering you. But the way of explanation you gave, I can't find anywhere.
