What you were describing was an alcohol problem, a person dependant on alcohol to get rid of anxiety. This is not what this is. Jason was saying that she was drinking in moderation. I feel like we shouldn't obsess too much over what is bad and good. We live life once, then let's live it. Jason, my advice to you is: If shes a all around nice girl and does no harm and drinks responsibly i think you should move on and trust her in her decisions. Unless its a deal breaker then talk to her, and break up if she wont quit. Its a tough thing to hear but if it really bothers you that much and shes not willing to quit then you are wasting yours AND her time. But as i said, if thats the only flaw and its something that you can work on its not worth fighting over, move on and see the good in her. There will always be something about any girl that you wont like, its about finding a balance that weighs in on the positive side :) Another tip: tell her that it bothers you and let her know you will try to be better and not let if affect you. How she deals with that kind of information also tells a lot about the person :) Good luck
OK you got Lucid's opinion. I'll leave mine here, in case someone's interested: I think Lucid went a little bit off-topic, or if you want to put it another way, he pictured the worst-scenario. Let me explain: I'm not a person who drinks a lot, at all, but I sometimes do (when I'm drinking with my friends and we play videogames or watch a movie or something); saying that when you drink alcohol "you're not you anymore" is not really accurate, you just get rid of some of the "filters" that you have normally because of some social norm, or because of your personality. For example, I was a few days ago making music with my friends and we drank too and we were more "close" and more honest with our feelings, because we really love each other (as you love your friends), but you don't normally go to a friend and say "hey man I love you", you could and it would be great, but as Lucid said, it is not really socially accepted. So here's the thing, it is true that you change when you drink, but to answer your question: "Am I making a big deal?" I would say: if your girlfriend just uses alcohol to have a good time with her friends and you (like the above example), then yes, you're exaggerating; on the other hand, if you know your gf and know that she uses alcohol to make some traits of her personality she doesn't like "dissapear", then no, you're not exaggerating and she has a problem that should be fixed by her (the example of the coffee and sleep that Lucid uses is perfect). So the real problem here is not drinking a little bit of alcohol, but WHY you're drinking it, what's the purpose? That's my opinion, hope nobody takes it in a bad way. Great video Lucid :).
bro you are 100% right and i wish he could see this so he doesn't depict such a bad picture from drinking don't get me wrong it is bad for your body but when he said it changes you I don't belive that

Going to share my experiences with alcohol to help others. It started in the spring of 2019. I was 15 years old. I was home alone with siblings and was curious to see what it feels like to drink. I had a can of hard lemonade. I got a slight buzz nothing major. A month later in May during memorial weekend, I went fishing with my father and his friends. They had a few drinks and I was offered a beer and drank it. Nothing major, the next time I drank was after a stressful situation that occurred in the summer. This is when it started to worsen. There was a situation with family that occurred, a lot of lies, me getting set up etc. I felt stressed and would drink a few beers occasionally. This was in August. I think I only had 2 days that I drank. Both times I drank around 3 beers. I didn’t get drunk, just started to feel more relaxed but I was still in control of myself. Fast forward to November. I went through some shit with a female near the end of November. The next 2 months I went hard on the alcohol. (I turned 16 in October btw) December and January were pretty bad. I was constantly in my head and I started to experiment with different drinks (vodka, Hennessy, whiskey etc.) I wanted to escape reality, I felt too much pressure from both of the situations. I had sports, school and a number of other things that I had going on. Yet I would drink the night before school. It was around 2 times a week, once during a weekday and then during Saturday. On those 2 days I usually drank about 5-7 alcoholic beverages(either shots, glass of wine, beer or anything spiked). I felt like I was missing something in life and like I just wanted to make stress go away. I never looked within to find the answers. I would just indulge. January came and it slightly worsened. I drank 2 times a week and drank around 6-9 beverages each of those two days. February came and I slightly eased off of it because I started smoking more grass. I stopped smoking and then the quarantine hit in March 2020. The last 2 weeks of March were very bad. I drank around 4-5 bottles of wine per week. I would wake up in the middle of the night to throw up. I was dehydrated many nights. April and May were my awakenings to reality. I started to meditate and practice the wim hof method. I rarely drank during those months. I had my final smoking session with grass in May and it changed my life ever since. I smoked and went to meditate and do the wim hof method. I then started playing some of 2pacs songs and out of no where I came to a realization that I needed to turn my life around. That I could do better. I got on nofap, started taking cold showers, started to appreciate life. I still drank but quit smoking grass. I only drank occasionally but it was still a problem. I’m now sober since January. Haven’t had a drop ever since. I’m currently 17 and am at my peak in life. When you hit rock bottom it feels littlest things make you happy. I see the quarantine as a blessing in disguise because it changed my life. Without it, I would have realized my problems at a way later time. I would not be where I am today. DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL. I did do it in moderation in the beginning but I was extremely young. My initial “innocent” drinks caused me the later drinking problems. From those initial few drinks I had early on, I saw alcohol as an escape from my problems and indulged in it. Alcohol, in any amount IS NOT SAFE for anyone. You do it once and it’s gonna be with you forever. To drink alcohol is to add another problem into your life. For me, it’s another Devil that I fight with. Remember, each day you spend sober is a victory for you and a loss for the devil. Wish everyone the best and I probably left some parts out. Peace Edit: I always ate healthy and worked out. I was in great physical shape. However, I could have been a lot better. Alcohol stopped me majorly. It distracted me from reality. It made me stupid and careless. After cutting how much I drink, I started to take cold showers, meditating, going out in nature, eating even healthier (no cheat meals), cut off all sodas and began my nofap journey. My highest was 50 days. I am currently on my 38th. Now that I completely quit, I respond to everything more logically and without stress. I have a part time job and have decent grades. Taking a lot of ap and honors classes. Life is just great.
I agree with don’t drink alcohol but disagree with how you view it. This is all coming from someone who studies and suffers from mental health conditions, also from some of the psychologists and other professionals I speak to and from studies I have read over the years. Alcohol isn’t the addiction and isn’t the problem, the reliance on it is. It all depends on how easily you give in to things and resort to escapism. Escapism itself isnt bad, but continuous reliance is. This is why you can have a video game addiction, porn/masturbation addiction, social media or parasocial relationship addiction. You look to something that provides an escape from any feeling, even if it’s only a small escape, and then heavily rely on it to avoid those problems as much as possible. Some do have chemical effects on the brain, others are just boosts to emotions or avoidance of an emotion. They aren’t as addictive as substances our bodies actually develop a dependence on (chemicals where withdrawing can cause physical health conditions), but they can feel more addictive and are often described as such due to the nature we consume them. Moderation is fine, there are arguably no affects on lifespan and few for short term health, only real issue is cost. You just have to make sure you don’t develop a reliance, or that if you are the kind of person that would, that you just outright avoid it. Kids are more likely to develop escapism as they don’t fully understand their problems or how to deal with them, even young adults haven’t fully developed (biologically speaking, not just experience) which affects how likely they are to make the right decisions around their problems. I’d argue that anyone over 30 that develops an addiction does so because they don’t want to work on fixing their problems, anyone younger most likely hasn’t developed enough to understand the impacts of their actions or hasn’t had the life experience to realise or understand where and how to get help. That being said, more power to you. I don’t drink and never will, but never be against people drinking if they can handle it, just make sure you are aware of how them drinking affects you (if it makes you want to drink) or if it seems to be a reliance of theirs and slowly try to distract them or pull them from it if you have the mental fortitude to handle it. This goes for all things, you’ll notice people unhealthily rely on even the most innocent things, so much that they significantly impact their lives, helping them notice and move past it is the best thing you can do.
@@mykeh3155 Disagree. Alcohol IS the problem. It IS a physically addictive substance. That is why people can become so dependent on it they develop seizures when trying to detox. People literally die in rehab all the time.
@@davin397 Why does that mean alcohol is the problem? My point is about dealing with the root of the issue, not the things that stem from it. If you can't properly moderate what you consume, how can you blame something specific for the symptoms you go through? If you had said alcohol is a problem, then sure, I can understand that, it shouldn't be something we consume. But saying it's the specific problem here, it's just not right. You can think of it like this, if you remove every addictive substance from existence, people that seek out forms of escapism will still get severely addicted to other things. If you remove all of the remaining logical things like nice food, music or a decent social life, they will just move on to more damaging things such as self harm or bullying. Psychological addiction is much stronger and more damaging than chemical addiction, so much that you can completely ignore the damaging affects of such chemicals in order to feel better EVEN when it's the first time consuming them, meaning you wouldn't even need to have a taste, let alone a chemical addiction to that substance in order to already be addicted mentally. I say all of this because the solution needs to be the main topic, not the symptoms. We either tackle alcohol (which honestly does nothing, it just makes it more dangerous like what we can already see with most drugs), or we prevent and deal with mental health issues earlier so that fewer people develop addictions and more of them are easier to recover from.
I think the key is finding what works for you. Something may not be healthy but its not my call to decide what they do. If she was drinking before the relationship you know what you got yourself into. If it affects you, thats different and that requires communication and if there isnt a healthy middle for it I think its worth to move forward and not dwell. Lucid has such a great big picture to each circumstance so major props!
I wish I had friends like Lucid. He knows how people behave, how to act with them, how they think and how to overcome people (generally) stupidity and stubbornness ... I only know one guy like that and he has been my best friend for 6 years
@@JBSkits123 exactly lol. That’s my best takeaway from this whole covid thing. All I need is my family and family friends, everyone else was just bringing me down without me realizing it. Being around people all the time in a group setting is just as bad as always being lonely.
I agree with a lot of points you make Lucid, alcohol is a poison. However the only time i drink for example is when i'm with friends and we basically mess around. About the anxiety part, its really true that its something that you have to combat yourself. But maybe a person will have too much anxiety to do anything and needs a little stepping stone to break the ice and get into a flow. Drugs, smoking, alcohol, junk food, etc. they're all bad for you ofcourse, but sometimes you just want to mess around with friends and do stupid shit. Thats part of being human. Cherish every single experience in your life, thats the only rule i live by.
I still feel like drinking is fine. It also creates different kind of memories because you aren't you anymore. And some great moments create some great memories to fondly look back on. I don't regret my actions for drinking at all, even though it has a negative physical impact on your body. A completely clean life is not worth living imo
Recently, about 2 months ago i tried my first beer and drank it all. About a month ago I met up with all my friends for a sleepover. We took 11 shots and I barely felt different until the last shot. I'm glad I went into it with my mind strong watching all of your videos Alex as all that happened on the last shot is I felt weightless, because there's nothing you can really do to prevent chemical changes to your body function, but what you can do is prevent it in your mind, take a 'reality check' every now and then. I don't get how people feel good while drinking alcohol, as honestly it doesn't taste good, and it doesn't make you feel good about yourself.
The worst part about drugs and alcohol aren't the side effects, but the benefits that are achieved through a shortcut, benefits that would've otherwise taken much more time to replicate
He is making a big deal of it you gotta be able to trust who you date . Lucid isn’t wrong but he really tends to over play topics making them seem completely terrible

Peace
Edit: I always ate healthy and worked out.
I admire this man’s wisdom
i get so happy when lucid posts🙏🏽🙏🏽
Lucid gives better life advice than my school teachers.
I mean school teachers don’t usually give good advice 😂
Like a virtual therapist I never though I would ever receive such great advice from a TH-cam video
My boy Lucid 🔥🔥🔥 who else likes lucid videos but doesn’t get the chance to watch them all the time
IT MAKES MY DAY BETTER WHEN YOU POST
You cant hide from the way you feel
This makes my loneliness not look so bad
I think the key is finding what works for you. Something may not be healthy but its not my call to decide what they do. If she was drinking before the relationship you know what you got yourself into. If it affects you, thats different and that requires communication and if there isnt a healthy middle for it I think its worth to move forward and not dwell. Lucid has such a great big picture to each circumstance so major props!
man always spitting straight facts
Petition for lucid to be a therapist
I wish I had friends like Lucid. He knows how people behave, how to act with them, how they think and how to overcome people (generally) stupidity and stubbornness ... I only know one guy like that and he has been my best friend for 6 years
when u grow up you have less and less friends but those best friends stay with you there's a reason you only can find 1 friend like that
@@JBSkits123 exactly lol. That’s my best takeaway from this whole covid thing. All I need is my family and family friends, everyone else was just bringing me down without me realizing it. Being around people all the time in a group setting is just as bad as always being lonely.
Definitely agree,Big boi Lucid
that was fr so insipring, i'mma use this irl and help others change, thanks lucid, i really appreciate ur tips, keep making them :)
I swear Lucid the realist one ☝️❤️❤️
I purely love watching your videos because of your camera quality and background, shit's eye candy.
You can't fun without drinking? That's quite sad

Your real af dude. Keep it up!
Lucid these type of videos are so good man
Good advice, especially the last 3 minutes
Lucid should be my life mentor this legend will probs be the most supporting friend and will teach you from the mistakes he made
Recently, about 2 months ago i tried my first beer and drank it all.
This video has way too many things that are relevant to my exact moment in life rn.
this guy has taught me more about life than school
The worst part about drugs and alcohol aren't the side effects, but the benefits that are achieved through a shortcut, benefits that would've otherwise taken much more time to replicate
I Believe In You More Than Myself Bro💜
He is making a big deal of it you gotta be able to trust who you date . Lucid isn’t wrong but he really tends to over play topics making them seem completely terrible
