I've just acquired one of these fugly machines for restoration, i'v not picked it up as yet but for free I can not refuse, just wondering if these bikes need a battery to spark? Is it not self generated like most old 2 strokes?
There is a position to start when battery is flat. You would most likely have to bump start it. See my 'How to start an MZ' in the play list. 👍 th-cam.com/play/PLeqBZ9Sn4T5t9Y-FhRgoMkvQ9rHLTP36z.html

Surprised to see a battery tray. Mine had completely rusted away.
Luckily while it was stored the battery was removed. I think that saved it 👍
