However, there is not anything called Vajrayan Bhuddhism, yes is a Vajrayan tradition of Bhuddhism. Pali tradition is a root of Buddha Dharma....

Every tradition in this time is came from shakyamuni buddha. Eg: founder of ZEN buddhism Bodhidharma was 29th generations student of Mahakashyapa and we know mahakashyapa was the arhat and one of the main disciple of Buddha shakyamuni.
