The tyres on the Ionic 5N and GLC 63 aren't that good for wet weather driving unfortunately. Pirelli P Zero is more of a dry weather tyre. Atleast compared to Michelin PS4. But the Ionic 5N having electronic torque distribution and is an EV (instant accel/decel control) makes a huge difference. It would have gone a lot faster if it had better tyres.

Having driven both the GT-R and the 5N, the 5N is surprisingly close in straight-line performance despite the weight. For handling, the GT-R is still definitely better, but I suspect that in the rain, the greater lateral body movement of the Ioniq 5N at full send doesn't really matter, as neither will be close to their dry lateral G peak. At this point, the intelligent torque distributiobn plays a bigger role in out-of-corner acceleration.
Also, let's not ignore the fact that the mans is getting old. Additionally I've noticed that DK does better with cars that have less assists and MT, probably gets him in the zone more.
It's called "mass centralisation". They place the heaviest weight as close to the middle of the car and as low as possible to achieve perfect balance. So even with a heavy weight a vehicle can still handle corners well.

GTR is old and overweight. The Hyundai wouldnt win against a lighter AWD car. Even an older evo can run under 10s in the rain.
