  • With AI everywhere you look, you may think you've seen it all. Magician David Kwong suggests otherwise, proposing advancements in technology actually increase opportunities for wonder. In an entertaining performance, he invites an audience member on stage to exhibit the mind-reading magic of ChatGPT - and explores how tech elevates our capacity for awe.

formatting the chatGPT questions to create a known answer (see how he switches left/right hand in the prompt) and I very much expect the random audience member to not be all that random ... because otherwise good luck preparing all the right prompts for initials to country name ... even if you are somehow able to determine what the guessed country would be ;)

Chat GPT is NOT reading minds. It's making deductions based on what you've fed it. We do not know what David Kwong has fed it beforehand, and the other thing is that François is likely a plant (the weird name joke, and the fact that François did not really react to it, suggests they are familiar with each other). The information he fed it during this session is not enough for ChatGPT to deduce that François is going to pick blue, lion or apple. He's also EXTREMELY specific when it comes to generating those names to spell out Denmark. This implies that this whole thing is a script, one ChatGPT has been specifically trained to spew out when given the right words.

The term "wonder" originates from Old English "wundor," which means a marvelous thing, a marvel or a miracle. This Old English word itself is derived from Proto-Germanic *wundran, which also meant wonder or marvel. Over time, the meaning of the word has broadened to include a sense of amazement, awe, or curiosity about something remarkable or surprising. The term has roots in other Germanic languages as well, such as Old High German "wuntar" and Old Norse "undr."
In a broader linguistic sense, the concept of wonder has been associated with feelings of admiration and astonishment across many cultures and languages.

1 minute summary: David Kwong, a magician and word nerd, explores the concept of wonder in the age of AI. He argues that technology can enhance our capacity for wonder, not diminish it. Through interactive demonstrations with ChatGPT and a volunteer, he highlights how technology can engage and surprise us. Kwong emphasizes that wonder comes from questioning what is possible, not just finding answers. He encourages us to embrace our human ability to see the world with fresh eyes and ask meaningful questions. Ultimately, he reminds us that our capacity for wonder is a unique gift that should not be wasted.

God loves you and cares for you so that this message reaches you. God is the one who created this large universe and controls it completely. The greatest loss a person loses in this life is that he lives without knowing God who created him and knowing the Messenger of Muhammad, the last of the messengers, and the Islamic religion, the last of the heavenly religions. Great intelligence, before you believe in something or not, is to read it, study it, and understand it well, and after that you have the choice to believe in it or not to believe in it. I advise you to do this now, before you no longer have time to do so. Life is very short. It is just a test, just a passage to eternal life. Great advice to those who... Understands
