The funny thing is that on that day of Wenders' filming the air temperature, with the addition of the wind, was near freezing and the dancers were totally bundled up against the cold up until the time of the shooting. So here, when they enact the "winter" part of the dance, you can bet they're really feeling it!!
And each dancer makes the movements his. That's part of the charm. There is no explanation for the beauty of this piece. A simple series of replications and it is heavenly.
It's glorious...it contains dozens of excellent aspects all done supremely well, and all at once. And of course, as an ode to a recently deceased inspirational artist cherished by all of these dancers, no better way to pay your respects is there, than to embody her choreography with a genuine smile.
Answering my own question - and following a suggestion below: sounds like the Tin Roof Blues by Louis Armstrong and the Hot Five.....but a semitone up and a bit faster. help!

Just found it!
Louis Armstrong - West End Blues
WoW... Amazing
If an anthem to Planet Earth could be translated into a dance, it would be this.
Spriiiiiiiiiing! Summah! Autummmn! Vintaaaaah!
Talking to myself - Louis Armstrong - West End Blues - but a different key.

Thanks RCapper8! Now that I know the name of the song I can start looking to see who did this particular version!
You are right @MrMusiquemonamour
It's Louis Armstrong's West End Blues.
what is it that is so giddy delicious joyous about the gestures they are making? does any one have idea
me recuerda a 8 y 1/2
4 ever….♥️
This scene haunts me in my dreams
So seemingly simple, yet so complex. The end result: lyrical beauty.
what is the name of the song playing???
I see several that interpret it but who are this one touching "West End Blues"
Everything is wonderful in Pina's dance, so beautiful
And I keep on wondering, where is that place?
Gigantic slag heaps from decades of mining...western Germany. With a sculpture by a well-known artist on the ridge-top.
C'est prodigieux
Me too..!!
Where is it?
Hi: Could anyone identify the music for me, please. Thanks.
we did too :)
Does anyone know the song used for this piece? I've been trying to find it everywhere
Anyone know the actual location of this scene? I'm curious about the line of posts they are dancing around...
