Never in the history of the USA has a defendant ignores the judges gag order 10 times and gets freedom to walkout of courtroom.
The first ones all happened before the judge drew the line, even though the tenth was sentenced afterward. All ten count as his "first strike." I want him in jail too, but a mistrial is about the worst possible outcome, and the judge is doing well not to give an appeals court ANY reason to let Trump out of this. No appeal, no mistrial. The only way we begin to move forward is a guilty verdict that stands up to appeal. Giving Trump every opportunity to behave is good for this, in the long run.
For Trump, the "right to remain stupid" takes precedence over the "right to remain silent".

They also protect due process. Secret Service is not there to break laws or make things difficult like private bodyguards might try to. These people are top-level American officers first and foremost. Trump would never be in a joint cell or general population, with or without Secret Service agents. Beyond keeping him safe, SSA's make no difference.
Wanting him not to be safe is wanting to go against due process and rule of law. He needs to be safe during the trial so that we have a chance to see justice with him _removed from society,_ even if the place he winds up is not the miserable condition anyone else would have to deal with.

I must also say: any future defendants in this judge's court that gets locked up on "their first breaking a gag order " should sue the judge for unequal justice. Plain and simple, Donald doesn't respect the law and judges are permitting continued offenses with only the silly low-bar $1k fine. We always "say" our justice is to be "equal ", yet over and over ,the courts demonstrate otherwise. From entitled, wealthy to the poor, or minorities, it's never EQUAL in our nation.
