BEWARE of the interior panel replacement!!!! .....So I just replaced these on our 2018 Yukon. Replacing the struts/actuator is the EASY part! The trick part is replacing the interior door panel ( that you have to remove in order to reconnect the wire connector). This was the only video I found that showed removal of the panel (at all) - so kudos for that! But, none of the videos show putting the interior panel back on ... Now I know why!!! It is a problem. After a lot of pulling/time... I was able to carefully pull and remove the panel without breaking anything ... but putting it back on was another story. In reality, to reinstall, you either have to break a plastic pin on the panel so you can slide the panel back on the clips. Or, you need to remove all the clips from the metalwork - install them on the plastic interior panel first - and then snap it back in place on the liftgate. There are 5 clips on the top of the panel and one each side (so 7 in total). The clips will likely get torn up when you remove them - so you will need to order new ones (if you want them to be tight - and no rattles). Here is link I used on Amazon to order the replacement clips: www.amazon.com/Rexka-Moulding-Reinforcement-11547026-Chevrolet/dp/B07BHKRKR4/ref=asc_df_B07BHKRKR4/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312697294768&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=691316465009221464&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026816&hvtargid=pla-568348903136&psc=1. This takes 5 mins to replace the struts - and 20 mins to replace the interior panel (assuming you already have the replacement clips in hand). Good luck... hope this helps. And let me/us know if you find a different or better way!

I didn't need to replace those clips. Mine came out of the metal and stayed on the plastic moulding. I didn't even take it all the way off.

Mine easily unlatches at latch. But only opens abt 5 inches (over time), and you cant force open. Is there a way to release it so we can repair??

Appreciate the content and topic! Question though: do you have to do the relearn (if so, this becomes much less of a DIY)? Some other suggestions for next time: show reinstallation of the panel; show closeups of the clips on the panel, the struts, and the wiring connector. This would make it easier to know how it engages/disengages - and thus how/where to press, pull etc. Like I said, good content - overall I appreciate the video - but some additional details would make it even more helpful.

Thank you so much for your suggestion. You can relearn the liftgate manually. Starting 5:48mins on the video clips until the end. That's the procedures manually..

@@nawafalharbi4539 2014 up to 2020 model middle east country the left side is a liftgate actuator motor, and right side is not an actuator its a strut. No need programming just perform relearn, follow the video to relearn
