    Exactly what I needed for my 2013 GMC Acadia. The liftgate had been broken for at least a year. Called the dealership and they wanted to charge over $700 to repair. I found your video last week, purchased the part for $53 and just replaced it myself. Thanks for posting!

      My 2013 Acadia didn't react to a blocked pathway and shut anyway breaking off the plastic end of actuator rod connected to the gate (sounded like my whole back window popped, freaked me out lol) was it easy to replace since it's "inside" the car? This just happened yesterday can't find any videos on it unfortunately.

    Only vid out there. Saved $250 the mechanic was trying to charge. Hardest part was finding the part. Looks like you HAVE to use a dealership if you want it fast. Took 5min after watching. Thanks bud.

    Great video indeed. I had/have the same problem with my 2014 GMC Acadia. I got the run -a round from the dealer even with the bumper to bumper warranty. At first the "tech" replaced the two support struts, even with the broken lift strut laying there and having to raise the gate by hand. When I pointed the real issue out to him, his response was, well that's not what it says on the work order, then they went into conference and decided just maybe the broken lift strut was the problem and replaced it. I didn't notice the lift support was making a clunking noise when it closed. A medical issue (open heart surgery) prevented me from returning to the shop. Well, the bumper to bumper warranty expired and now it's my problem. With your video I think I can fix this problem or a least see what is causing the clunking noise. Again thanks for taking the time to make this great video.....Ken...Marina CA

    My 2011 buick enclave just had the recall for the liftgate done and that rod now makes a loud click when the liftgate reaches fully open. I'm hoping that it's not doing any damage!

    • @Aggressivefun
      @Aggressivefun  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    To change the lift rod to rear hatch door is very simple and be done in 10 min. The support shocks to rear hatch is done in couple minutes. Pull up video and save a fortune.

    What is the name of the upper part where it goes? The one on my car is loose and I think that's why it broke again

    • @Aggressivefun
      @Aggressivefun  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm...not sure what that's called. I would call one of your local Chevy dealerships and ask them by giving them the part number and details of the part I used in the video. Their computer system will bring up all of the attached parts and they can give you the name and part number. I've found that the local dealerships can sometimes give the best price and availability on parts that are harder to find online. Hope that helps.

    If it closes on to something maybe it latches before it can kick in and open back up

    • @Aggressivefun
      @Aggressivefun  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe, in some cases, but usually it hits and has a problem closing before its close to latching. It depends a lot on when the obstruction actually hits the liftgate first. Thanks for watching!

    Ha Ha Ha like your response hope your wife appreciated. FYI , if the gate is operating and you try to lift or push it down it can break the plastic ends. If you aren't informed the caveman style will break it.

    • @Aggressivefun
      @Aggressivefun  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, she was running the camera so she heard it first hand - I thought it was funny!! :-)
      I think the caveman style contributed to it breaking in the first place. Some family members didn't know it was automatic!

    These actuator rods tips are cheaply made. A laundry bin shouldn't snap one of these apart.

    • @Aggressivefun
      @Aggressivefun  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the plastic ends could be a much better/stronger design.
