Just got mine. IN LOVE. Let them burn in a couple nights by playing some white noise and music looped. As has been said, the "best' noise-cancelling is probably Bose QC35/25 and the SONY MDR1000x (now an upgraded rev). But I went to look at the BOSE and SONY at Best Buy and holy crap - lots of cheap plastic for your money. BOSE are comfy, but seriously, for the extra money, the HD1 are insanely great. Sound better, more comfortable, and look the biz. Lots of good cans for $350-$400, but none compare in quality and sound to these. They are so nice as to smokily out anything else on the no-thanks list. Also, Sennheiser offers a two-year warranty. SONY has fought people who had headband breaks on the 1000x. These my friends, are worth the money, and this is why GAMESKY exudes excitement in this review. Thanks man, you helped push me to the HD1 and I am thrilled!

Hey, great video :) I'm about to buy a headphone but i stucked between Sony Mdr1000X and Sennheiser Momentum wireless. In my country Mdr1000x little more expensive :) These costs equal amount that i spend in 3 months so its really important for me. Generally i'm listening trip hop or electronical music and noise cancelation is really important for me. I watched your both videos about these headphones, which one do you suggest to me? Hey do you think you could look into doing a series or videos about audio set up for the ps4 slim, I know alot of wireless stuff takes optical and for some twisted reason sony removed it on the optical. Does this work in wired mode like a crossfade wireless? In crossfade wireless when the battery dies the wired mode provides same quality. In senheiser is it possible? Or do we need battery charge to provide best quality sound even when using wired mode?

Are these worth upgrading to from the Sony MDR-1000x?
Understood this is an old review, but hopefully you can still follow-up. Just picked up the HD1 for $70 on eBay "gently used" based on this review.
I have to say, the ANC works pretty well and the lows and highs sound great! But the mids sound hollow and almost sound like they are coming through at a lower volume. For example, listening to this HD1 review video on the HD1s and your voice doesn't sound crisp - almost sound like my ears are plugged from a cold.
Tested wired and wireless on my iPhone 7, iPad Air, Pixel 2 XL and MacBook Pro with various audio sources. My only comparison is non-ANC on-ear Marshall Mids that sound much "cleaner" IMO. I would be hugely disappointed if I paid full MSRP for these, but at $70 they are pretty good!
I'm curious since you raved about these so much, what device were you using and were you using any equalizer or just straight audio?
Just nabbed a pair of black/red ones off eBay this morning. I have a pair of Oppo PM-3s and the L channel went out last week, so I had to search for a worthy replacement. I had been looking for a “deal” last week on eBay. I have a buddy that has a pair of Momentum 2 wireless OTE cans and I ❤️ them! After deciding to go with the rebranded Sennheiser wireless OTE HD1s (practically twins of Momentum 2, but even newer with a wider/sturdier headband) I started perusing eBay more diligently. This morning, 3 minutes after the seller listed them, I “stole” them for $99.00! Oh.....they were missing 1 item from original “new” retail unit, though....... the original box, LOL! Great cans @ a Killer price!! Winner👍🏼👍🏼

I would think that they be similar. But I also watched your video on the PXC 550's (which you did 2 months before this HD1 video) and you seem to be much more excited for the HD1's in sound quality.

the PXC 550s are good, I own a pair. However the hinges are pretty fragile, being plastic. I dropped mine the other day from waist height and the hinge broke, I had to glue it back. Thats why im giving this a shot cz it has metal arms

They have the best sound of any closed back headphones that i have tried and they sound so wide. Amazon now has them for much less they are a must buy

Ed Cruzat the crossfades sound muffled compared to these, wireless 2 modas sound worse than m100 believe it or not,
beautiful headphones, I do recommend the XL pads. They sound gorgeous and feel great, though they do get weighty and a bit tight after a few hours.
How would you compare to v Moda Crossfade wireless 2?
do a comparison between the 1000x and the mdr xb950n1, really interested in seeing one cuz the 950n1 has an adjustable bass, comfort, and noise cancelling which is an overall good package for the price!

I wanted to get the HD1 in my country but when I checked the most reliable place and widest array of headphones in my country but they didnt have it if i wanted one it would have to be shipped and it might get deffected from shipping so I just settled with the momentum V2 which in my opinion looks as good and sounds as good
They are the same thing hd1 and momentum m2 wireless.

That's the wired version they were getting complaints about.
Technically it's just a re-brand of the Momentum 2.0 wireless because they don't own the rights to the momentum name, so it's not a new product

+Gamesky Do you have a popping/crackling sound when the ANC is on and it receives a thumping sound? Like a closing of a door, or when on a vehicle and it goes thru a bump in the road, or even when walking and stepping hard enough? I have the Momentum 2.0 wireless and it does this.

Thanks Gamesky. I also asked you to also give you a heads-up about this problem. I love these headphones and I share your same exact sentiments for the HD1 with my Momentum Over-ear wireless. I requested a replacement for my headphones and they exhibit the same exact problems. What a bummer. But I hope they fixed it on the HD1's. That's probably why they rebranded the Momentum wireless to HD1's without any sort of upgrades. Thanks again! Cheers!

I recently purchased the Beats studio 3s at Best Buy and the sound quality sucks
There isn’t any bass and all i listen to is (RAP MUSIC) and the volume isn’t loud like I would like it too be
So i am willing to pay extra money on these headphones but my question is

good Vibes beats are known for there bass, so it must be the recording you listen to,, if your music on your phone is low quality then it won't sound great,,the synthesizer bass aren't deep asbestos but overall sound quality is better,,, you should bring your phone and beats to store and listen to compare your headphone to the sennheiser there you will find your answer.

I have PCX 550 and I'm very heppy but what is difference between PCX550 and HD1. If HD1 preserve noise cancellation and microphone quality but improve sound quality it is my headphone
Luca Reggiani the difference is that on px synthesizer concentrated on noise cancellation, but with the hd1 the sound quality comes first then the noise cancellation,Hd1 just sound better overall.

Edit: Oh I was mistaken, I thought you meant the "Sennheiser momentum wireless", so yeah the Senheiser momentum 2.0 changed name to "Sennheiser HD-1 Wireless".
Better build quality
Both of these guys are sorta incorrect, for simplicity I’ll only talk about the Momentum 2.0, they are exactly the same as the HD1s the reason they have different names is due to the area you’re in, the name “Momentum” was copyrighted in some states and countries hence the different name, hope that helps
You should do a review of the new XB950N1, it would be an awesome flashback to your review on the original XB950BTs.

I was trying to find a good pair of wireless headphones. I came across your review and decided to give the Sennheiser HD1 over ear headphones a go. I just received them and will be returning them. With my ears...I dislike the Sennheiser HD1's. They sound plain and slightly hollow. Im sure these are great headphones, but being a audiophile, they aren't good enough for me to use and enjoy. I knew buying any wireless headphones there was a strong chance that they wouldn't hold up to my expectations. For the average listener, these are probably amazing headphones. Build quality, fit and feel is amazing, but unfortunately to me, sound quality is lacking.

make sure to try the QC35's somewhere first. some people have an issue with the pressure it causes with it's noise cancelling

There is a wireless version...they changed the name for US sales.
The best sounding noise cancelling headphones are the NAD Hp70. Not the best noise cancelling though but just good enough.
After using them for a while i got to add to things that i find annoying:
1. When you are outside you can hear the air cutting through a thin metal headband.
2. The headpad is not soft enough and after 20-30 minutes your top of the head starts hurting.
Beside that, i still love this headphones

they actually don't give me any of the headphones. I try a pair out, send it back and then just pick another pair to try out
I just got these 3 days ago. Love em. My only gripe with them is that if you slowly double tap the center button. It redials the most recent person you called. Which is annoying. Also they arent the loudest. But other than that they are great.

Gamesky They are indeed an amazing pair of headphones. I absolutely love them aswell. Btw its not exactly a problem its just a little thing i dont like. Next time you turn them on, try slowly double tapping the center of the volume button, the headphones will say "REDIALING" and then call the last person you spoke to. I find it a really dumb and annoying feature. But thats only a little gripe lol.

I must be doing something wrong, because they sound ok at the very best wireless, but absolutely amazing when I plug them in using the cable.
Your phone probably doesn’t support the aptX. That is the only thing I can think of. Mine don’t sound different at all whether wired, or wireless.
I plan on using these while doing work at Starbucks. My questions are: 1) How was the comfort level after a couple hours of use? 2) How was sound leak at full volume?

I really do like your reviews. Once you said that Crushers wireless are like made for you. I haven't heard HD1 yet but I'd expect much different sound signature. Therefore to say HD1 are the best wireless headphones without direct comparison feels to me a bit carefree...
