I literally told my family I feel like I lost 10 pounds of weight on my mind organizing every cupboard in kitchen , bathroom, bedroom and garage!! My mind feels lighter and everybody in house feels the same! Cluttered house cluttered mind.

Oh yes, I could use an extra kick in the rear for some reorganization /declutterization (is that a word? lol) Got some drawers that need attention and areas of the closet. (also have to make room for Lego sets! ) That is so sweet you're donating supplies to teachers. No surprise since you guys have a heart of gold. Yes!!!! I def need to declutter my clothes. I noticed I am always getting rid of bags full. I have no more space and I continue to buy, or I say "it will fit for next year"!!! I also need to figure out a way to add some type of shelving to help me keep things organized, and looking better towards the bottom of the closets.
A few years ago, I led a back to school collection at my church. We then donated all of it to a local school. What a good feeling. I love the pull down rod in your closet. I have never seen that before. You have inspired me to clean out my makeup and stuff under the bathroom sink.
That was nice of you to run that for the kids. I’m so glad this could help motivate you to cleanup under the sink!

More Decluttering Videos please.
Most of your videos seem aimed at the person who already keeps their space fairly organized and decluttered.
I work with a large Hoarding/Decluttering Group. Any hope you might do one or two videos geared toward those whose houses (or parts of houses) are out of control, and they are overwhelmed?
They always ask, “Where do I start?” Procrastination and Denial come very easily to us when we are stressed or frustrated.
Your first video geared toward our population could be called, “Where Do You Start?”. Or, “An Easy Way to Start Decluttering!”
You also briefly talked about family Decluttering. I wanted to compliment you for emphasizing the concept of, not touching someone else’s things without their permission.
And if you did clear out someone else’s items, letting them go through the piles of items to be donated or tossed first, to verify nothing they really needed to keep was included (like with your husband’s meds). This is spot on.
Hoarder’s usually have extremely bad experiences when they let family or friends “help” in their Decluttering.
Many times the family or friends take it upon themselves to use their own judgement about what should be tossed. They neglect to consult the hoarder for fear they will want to keep everything. So as a group we are very wary about letting anyone into our homes.
Also Hoarders are wary of donating or tossing anything that costs a lot of money. No matter how bad a condition it is in.
You could emphasize the “cost” of taking up valuable space in your home, and weighing you down emotionally and physically. To make it seem reasonable to let the item or items go.
(You did this a little bit, but not till far into the video. Maybe near the front).
One concept that does work well with Hoarders is the mirroring or the buddy system. How about some videos demonstrating this.
If you don’t recognize the terms, it means if you have multiple people in the same house (like a family), you set aside a day and time for say 30 minutes (or less the first few times); each person works on their own items, but you bring them into a common room, and you are reinforcing each other by working together but separately.
If you live alone, you find a buddy or possibly a distant family member. You either phone, Zoom, FaceTime, or some other live private social media, to reach out to each other. Same deal. You talk to each other while you each work on your own homes.
For example we had two men who called each other. One worked on their office and the other worked on their bedroom. While they worked together but separately for less than an hour, they got more done than they had individually in weeks of work.
The concept is some Decluttering might come easily. But eventually you will encounter an item tied up in memories and or emotions.
It doesn’t matter if they haven’t used it in years or it’s in poor condition, it’s what was happening in their lives when they acquired it (love, happiness, etc); or what deceased or estranged loved one gave it to them.
If we donate it or throw it away, we feel like we are throwing away the memories and the love.
If working alone, you might get frustrated (knowing it should go, but unable or unwilling to let it go), and give up.
But talking to a buddy, they can encourage you to ask hard questions, or to put the item in a “later” bin, saved for the end of your session; so you don’t get stuck and break your momentum. Save the hard decisions for last.
Later on, when the hoarder gets comfortable working this way, they may allow Professional Organizers or Hoarding Helpers to actually come in their home and they work side by side. Then you might see proper mirroring.
I know this is theoretically “not your job”, but it would be a godsend to the millions of Hoarders/Messies/Clutterer’s out there.

I just wanted to say that you are wonderful! I love your videos! You have given me back my motivation...well, you've inspired me to get my motivation back and get rid of the junk in my life! You see, I lost my youngest daughter 27, 6/20/20 and 3 months later my mom and if you can believe it, in the interim I had a horrific accident where I broke my back in 3 places and several other injuries. I'm pretty much myself again but my heart will forever be broken. Ironically my daughter lived in Oklahoma and I lived in Arkoma Oklahoma for a while, I'm back in NY. So thank you, you are a God send. I would love any tips you might have since I am merging my stuff as well as my mom's so you can imagine! You'd go nuts!! Lol

Ashley I’ve been watching you declutter for several years , and you are definitely hard core about it but I wondered is there something you have that you just can’t get rid of , or just need to keep whether you use it or not ??? Also donating supplies to teachers is so awesome :)
Blankets are really hard for me to let go. Even old towels 😂 I keep them in the garage until I clean something dirty then I toss it.
I keep more serving dishes than I would like but we host the holidays so I need them a few times a year. Other than that I’m pretty ruthless. 😂
