I've just booked to stay at the Riviera in a 3 Bedroom Grand Villa for 10 nights in 2023. I'm so excited. I've only ever stayed in value resorts (Pop Century and Art of Animation). I decided to spend a little extra as I'm taking my family. It will be the trip of a lifetime. Thank you for all your videos, it helped me decide which hotel I should book.

My parents bought the Boardwalk in 98 and they put my name on last year.i was there last year before the renovation . Last year my mother myself married oldest brother my sister in law and my uncle on my mother’s side bought Riviera. We did a tour last year before we even thought of buying. My mother and I are coming this year
Thanks for posting this. I booked my room for May 2021. In my opinion if you compare apples to apples, these studio villas are better than any other comparable room on Disney property. I'm not comparing them to other Home Away from Home resorts i.e 1, 2 or 3 bedroom DVC villas, the family suites at AA or the cabins at FW. I'm only comparing them to other studio villas as well as value, moderate or deluxe resort accommodations. These are my objective reasons why. 1. These rooms are bigger than most any other resort rooms (433 square feet). The only exceptions are the regular resort rooms at the G.F. (440 square feet) and the deluxe studio rooms at the Polynesian (465 square feet). 2. A pull-down Murphy bed with a real mattress vs. a pull-out couch. I think that having a pullout coach is the biggest disadvantage of staying at most dvc studio rooms. Regular resort rooms all have two regular mattresses. When it comes to DVC studios rooms, only the renovated studio rooms at S.S. and the studio rooms at OKW have two REAL mattresses. (I've heard that other dvc studio resorts will get Murphy beds as renovations continue). 3. A split bathroom - a tremendous advantage when trying to get out the door in the morning and everyone wants to use the shower. Only the studio rooms at the G.F. and the Poly. villas have this advantage. 4. A small freezer compartment in the minifridge - This may seem like a small thing but I think it's a HUGE DEAL. I ride an ECV and like to take a cooler into the parks filled with drinks. Last year, Disney, sighting security concerns, outlawed loose ice. However, coolers with ice packs can be brought in. My question: how are you going to keep an ice pack frozen over several days if you don't have a freezer compartment in the minifridge???? The deluxe studio rooms at the Riviera Resort are the ONLY resort rooms on Disney property that have this advantage. When weighing these advantages, I believe these rooms are THE BEST studio villas OR regular resort rooms on WDW!! Some folks may disagree. Those folks ARE WRONG!!! 😀
That view is amazing!! One question I've always had when it came to the rooms at Disney is what is their policy on bath bombs? Like what if I want to get all super fancy with my robe and my stamped TP and also use a Lush bath bomb with rose petals in it?
My father would INSIST on preferred view. They DO NOT make up the rooms based on what you or anyone else insists. Then when he got Parkinsons he would INSIST on preferred view and close to the end elevator. I would tell him why do you need to be close to the elevator we rent the motorized scooter now. They either make up the room based on who abandons their room first or starting from one end of the hallway to the other. So the guests that just wanted A two bedroom or A studio got the first room available whereas we who insisted on preferred view and or close to the elevator would get our room dead last. We were NEVER in the room a minute before 4 pm and getting the here maybe noon we had like a six hour wait.Yes you can tour the grounds or visit a park but if you want a shower if you want to change clothes.Forget it
I did notice that Some Studio Rooms , are Not linked to other rooms , so you are alone in the studio room. I have my 50th birthday 2021 , Disney has there 50th anniversary. me saveing up to go ...and get a holiday there . was thinking , animal kingdom/hotel /rooms/lodage....BUT....RIVERA Resorts , looks Great .

The cash side is only given a certain number of rooms. It may be the room type you’re trying for that’s booked up? Some are more popular than others. Bookings open up 499 in advance, so there is always the possibility it’s just booked right now. People tend to cancel room bookings as the date gets closer to their trip, so we suggest to check often. Things go back into inventory all the time.
The preferred rooms face the pool, so no. The standard rooms have a better chance of seeing the fireworks. And all of the tower studios have a fireworks view.
Silly question.. I’m trying to choose between this room and the one bedroom villa. There will be 4 adults and one kid (12 yrs old). The price difference is $290 per night. Is it worth it to stay in the villa for an extra $290 per night?
The main difference between the two is the extra space in the one bedroom and the full kitchen. If you won’t be spending a lot of time in the room or cooking at all, I’d suggest the studio and use the savings to enjoy nice meals throughout the week. If you are wanting to do some cooking or work in the room, the one bedroom will be worth the extra space for everyone’s sanity. 😊

Wow, almost no cabinet drawers to put clothes in. Just the ones under the bed, and the closet. I'd rather have a cabinet with drawers under the TV than that small pull down bed.
You are right, there's not a lot of storage (though there are drawers in the coffee table too). This is how most DVC Deluxe Studios are if they sleep 5. Check out the studios at Copper Creek, for example, if you're looking for a 4-person studio with more storage space. ☺️
The Boardwalk villas studio has the pull down twin bed under the TV, but it also has a tall chest next to it with 5ish drawers of decent size. I can't remember though if it also has the table and 2 chairs. Hm? You'd think they'd have squeezed in a few more drawers like they do in a cruise cabin.
What room number is this? I know you mentioned 8th floor...we have a preferred view studio in January and would like to know what to request when checking in. Thanks

Officially the end of the year will complete our year. We’ll be doing more traveling including Aulani, Hawaii, Disneyland and a Disney Cruise. 😊
