I had the same reactions you folks did. Been a 'G' fan since I saw 'Godzilla vs. the Thing' at a triple feature wayyyy back in 1972. FINALLY, an American Godzilla film that actually captures the spirit of Godzilla and respects the source material.....unlike that piece of shit from Tri-Star in '98.
That's the problem with the '98 film Misty Rose. Those two hacks, Devlin & Emmerich showed no respect for the character. They did to Godzilla what Joel Schumacher did to Batman.

I think that this trailer has taken so many people by surprise with how well done it is. It shows you just enough of the Kaiju (or Titans as they're being referred to in this movie) but not enough to spoil it and the music is just so fitting. I don't think I've seen such overwhelming positivity to a trailer for such a long time and that makes me happy.

ive seriously watched this trailer 50 times and my eyes water up every time.... Grew up loving Godzilla and I already have it in my mind that this will be my favorite movie of all time
I loved the 2014 Godzilla because it FELT like a Godzilla film. I have them all......grew up on them.(70's kid) so for me it was awesome to see. Unlike the other US one....I saw that opening night, went with my Mom....and when we sat at the restaurant and I said.."WTF was that? That wasn't Godzilla...that was just some giant iguana." Thankfully Toho had him in Final Wars and he got his ass kicked in 1 min.
kieralinn I agree completely. As a Godzilla fan of 40+ years, the 2014 film felt like a Godzilla movie to me. Piss on all the whiny ass c*nts who said Godzilla wasn't in there long enough or Godzilla's fat or some bullshit like that. There have been plenty of Godzilla films where the big G had limited screen-time. As far as being too fat? 2014 was big and imposing and you could totally buy him as an ancient pseudo-aquatic sea creature.
Nolan - Godzilla didn't have that much screen time in his first film, so I don't know what these cats are whining about.
MrBronx61 True, Godzilla showed up for a grand total of 8:45 in a 96 minute movie, Godzilla 2014 showed up for 10 minutes out of a 123 minute movie so the screen time percentage is slightly lower, but then the M.U.T.O.'s had a fair amount of screen time. Godzilla Vs Monster Zero has the least bit of screen time in a Godzilla movie 5:45 out of a 94 minute movie. So I don't really know why people are bitching.

I'm a godzilla fan and had a chance to buy all the movies at the age of 40. I grew up watching Godzilla so this new movie is the bomb. I can understand her reaction. Finally Godzilla is made the way he should.
Dope reaction guys, Lady Phatblood's excitement was so adorable hahaha. I'm the same way when it comes to Kaiju films, cant wait for this film to come out. My favorite Kaiju hands down is Rodan, in particular Fire Rodan.

I really love Edward's Godzilla. It's my favourite movie of 2014 even before Guardians of the Galaxy, actually. It took the amazing directorial proficiency of Jaws (one of my all time favourites) and applied it to the King of Monsters, with the slow build-up and the fantastic payoff. Only the characters were a little bland. Also, I think a good movie needs to make you want for more just like Godzilla did. If you go and say "Yup... that was enough of that, I'm good" then the movie failed. This trailer looks amazing and I'm glad you love it, Lady Phatblood! Let's hope the movie delivers on its promise. Oh, and yeah, Godzilla is my favourite monster.
Word. Someone gets it. Notice also that Alien showed little of the monster, but then Aliens went full out action.....KOFM will be to Godzilla 2014 what Aliens was to Alien. Remember you read it here first.
I loved the 2014 Godzilla, my main gripe was that way too much of the fight was at night in the dark. At times I thought it was nearly impossible to tell what the heck was happening, I’m hoping King will not have the same issue.
Totally agree. I think people just like to complain. I was disappointed that they killed Bryan Cranston's character so soon but the monsters and the sound...amazing!

Knew you guys would enjoy the shit out of this trailer! Lady Phatblood is a goddamn national treasure, I love her passion for this genre. I haven't gotten to watch all the old Godzilla films. Hopefully that's something I can rectify in the next few months because Godzilla is probably my favorite Kaiju. Can't wait for this! In the meantime i'll have to put the 2014 Godzilla bluray to work.

My wife and I are longtime Godzilla nerds, she has nearly the entire collection of the old Toy Vault plushes and tons of vinyl figures, shirts and books. She LOVES Godzilla. When she saw this trailer, her immediate response was, “f--ing FINALLY!!!” She’s been waiting for a truly awesome VS movie since Final Wars. She loved Godzilla 2014, but the “Kiss of Death” moment at the end is her favorite moment. She cheered in the theater. Our take is that THIS movie is the American realization of what we saw in our heads when we were kids. Monster-on-monster throwdowns and atomic fire breath in modern CGI taken SERIOUSLY!!!

I don't know if you noticed, but that was Mothra's Larval Form that she was reaching for in the lab. I'm thinking she's going to form a bond with Mothra.
I just want to say that this reaction makes me so happy. It's amazing to see two people who love something so much and get to see it represented in a medium like film. So many people complain about not seeing Godzilla enough in the 2014 flick, but it was pretty much the same deal in the Original Japanese film, definitely prefer the 2014 American flick over Shin Godzilla.
This video is currently my favourite on TH-cam - amazing reaction and your reaction is legendary - I grew up watching these movies lol they had Godzilla weekend once back in the day where they showed nothing but Godzilla for a weekend on one channel! Which was amazing at the time

By far the best reaction video for Godzilla 2019! I love how this reaction actually has people who are familiar with Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah.

Ive watched this reaction so many times (almost as many as the trailer itself) because i love it so much. The reaction is so much like my own (even after G14 as well) because of how much G and the Kaiju genre has meant to me in my almost 50 years of living. The adrenaline rush of what they have done so far has truly blown me away and cannot wait to see this new one in the theaters as well as the movie/movies that follow. You may not know too many people that like this stuff but i know i and a few others are right there with you. Also love the Predator and Conan stuff you have in the background. \m/
I did love Godzilla growing up, but I also had a love of Ultra Man, if you remember that show. Not sure if it was Kaiju, though, but I loved them both.

Growing up on the old school Godzilla and having all the toys and books, coloring books and that roar. Only a select few will ever understand this feeling of excitement and love. Goddamn i cant wait to see thia movie.

Other than Godzilla, Mothra and Rodan some great kaiju are: Manda, Baragon, Varan, Anguirus and Gigan. In terms of mechs: Mecha Godzilla (70's version), Atragon and the Super X.
Have to mention: Maser Cannons and the Moonlight SY-3.

I'd have to say while Godzilla is my favorite Kaiju, it's a specific version of him... Burning Godzilla. He's just such a badass in the 1995 movie and the ending always brings a tear to my eye...

I was already fired up after seeing the trailer awhile ago, but I absolutely love it when I come across people (whether online or off) that actually share in my excitement. My roomie is as excited as I am, but watching y'all during that trailer only got me that much more fired up than I already was. Good to see some true Kaiju lovers out there tellin it like it is.
I've probably watched the trailer about 50 times already, but I'm about to go watch it again. Oh, and as far as other Kaiju I'm hoping show up in future films (if there any), I hope Gigan makes an appearance sometime. He's a major favorite of mine.
