A lot of the points in this vid basically implies that his name can't be subjectively cleared regardless of if he monetarily settles or wins all the cases outright, so why wouldn't he try the latter if he feels like it's the best way to objectively clear his name and he puts that above his career? Also, he's not gonna feel like he needs to make amends if he doesn't believe he did anything wrong, and there's no magical numeric threshold of accusations that guarantees that Deshaun was definitely, objectively, in the wrong. I understand it's hard to believe a side that's heavily against the majority, but the possibility that Deshaun committed no crime still exists, which is the entire reason for these trials. Why would he believe he has mistakes to own up to if what he alleges happened was legal and consensual? The accusers aren't owed any money and aren't obligated to receive any of the $230M that Watson will be getting just because Watson can can afford it; smart people don't buy everything that they can afford just because it's affordable, they only buy things that are of value to them, and Deshaun sees more value in fighting the cases, plain and simple. I don't think Goodell, et al, want to deal with the backlash of a publicly-perceived "light" suspension for Watson. I'm guessing the initial suspension will be over a year, but will be reduced to a year on appeal. There will be a huge outcry if they only give him 6 games.
The entire league wants Watson's deal to blowup. The one thing that separated NFL & NBA was (guaranteed $), meaning if a player underperforms in football you can cut ties. To uproot that complicates things so dramatically. It's awful. If Bucs wanted to fully guarantee Brady for a couple years, nobody would care. But to reward a guy coming off suspension and legal issues, I hate it.
I thought he was guilty at first but now im really starting to think he's innocent. It's unheard of to have 22 cases go to 2 different grand juries and not sticking. And all 22 of them women having the same lawyer who just happens to be a friend of the Texans owner is king of weird.

Is Deshaun Watson just supposed to hide in his house for the rest of his life? He's the QB of the Browns. Naturally, he's going to try and be a leader on that football team. Taking the team to the Bahamas to train and do team-building is what a leader would do. Watson is going to live his life. He has not even been indicted for crimes. Then of course there is the possibility that after he serves his potentially lengthy suspension if he doesn't like how the Browns are being run he will demand a trade.

Technically, he is innocent (right now). But I think his actions reflect the character of someone who isn’t fully respecting the situation they’re in. He should do these big events/statements after it’s been decided; but hey, an “innocent” man is free to do what he wants until it is determined he is not innocent, but it can still be considered bad PR. Edit: I predict that it won’t be determined he’s “fully” innocent or at-fault either way, but there never will be some form of quiet payment/service by either his camp or the NFL once it’s all said and done. You can find 22 desperate 304s in any city who would do anything for a come up Mike. So much smoke and yet two grand juries could not find a thing to indict him on. Are you that naive or just a jaded ambulance chaser?
It’s probably because prosecutors RaReLy choose to prosecute. Prosecutors in Texas are well-known for never bringing cases against anyone. Texas jails are practically empty and we all know TeXaS Is SuPeR SoFt on CrImE.
Innocent until proven guilty or guilty until proven innocent? Just wondering Mike.
The NFL is not the Court System. You don't need to be proven guilty in the NFL to face the consequences. If that was the case, Watson would have been the Texans QB last year. The one thing that matters in the NFL is the court of public opinion.
Watson didn't play last year because the Texans were trying to trade him dumb ads, they didn't want him to get hurt, he could have played last year.
Roethlisberger was never charged with a crime and he's been absolutely trashed by people for over 12 years now.

Dear Mike Florio - I have no clue as to Watson's guilt or innocence, but your "Critical Mass" argument is idiotic. If 22 or 22,000 viewers criticize you, at what point are you guilty? Answer - When the evidence demonstrates guilt or innocence.
this is what people refuse to admit that an allegation dose not = guilty, it warrants an investigation and possible a trial NOT GUILT. people are welcome to judge him now i have my self, but to make a real business decision other factors come into play. I do think if the public reacts in a way that affect the bottom lines then you could see fast punitive measures, but it looks like the Browns do not see the fans as a threat with the signing.
Excellent point my friend
Your comparison of legal cases and critical views is not good, not close. It's not typical for 22 different people to make these accusations and it is not true.
@@BryanHalo123 there's a difference between saying something is "typical," and to determine a judgement. Do I think Watson is innocent? My OPINION is that he has probably behaved himself into a problem. But my OPINION doesn't count. Neither does the OPINION of a commentator.

I don't think Goodell, et al, want to deal with the backlash of a publicly-perceived "light" suspension for Watson. I'm guessing the initial suspension will be over a year, but will be reduced to a year on appeal. There will be a huge outcry if they only give him 6 games.
It's going to be hard to suspend someone for over a year that 2 grand juries didn't have enough evidence to indict him.
