Here's an idea for a version 2.0
Move the switch to the top or the side, and mount a powerful magnet in that side, and if possible, close only the top partially, till the light segment, that way, the remaining empty space can be used as a holder to store small tools like tester, screw driver, and because its magnetic, can be stuck to a metal door, panel, or a shelf, and the newly created holder slot can hold tools while performing maintenance... :)

You can connect LEDs in series, so that if you are using 12v one led will receive 4v. You are using usb to charge here but If you want more capacity then connect batteries in series and connect the same amount 2 or 3 times In parallel
