    Used the foil boat method and got a compliment so good I gotta share word for word. Our sweet neighbor recently just home from the hospital with her new baby messaged my wife: “Next time your husband smokes bbq I’ll buy the Boston butts if he smokes one for us too! I’ll never be able to settle for anyone else’s. It’s by Far the best one I’ve had!” So Bradley Robinson, thanks again so much for my new favorite bbq channel! 👍 👍

    Made this exactly this weekend and it was bomb! I used all of the vinegar mix for about a 6.5 pound pork shoulder and it was a bit much. I might cut down to 1 cup of each instead of 1.5 each. I wasn't sure if you used all of it in your video. I had only started to use part of it but all of the pepper/spices were left in the container so I dumped the rest in. Mixed with a little BBQ - It's much better.

    Most people in the video making bidness aren't aware of how cheerful and refreshing a well placed fart can really be. Although inherently difficult to master, a beautifully timed bottom burp will enlighten nearly any social situation and lends credibility to those knowing exactly when to deploy the clandestine dingleberry drum roll. If you could tag an aroma on that sucker and end the note with a lisp...definitely a lost art. Congratulations my friend and keep up the great work.

    I took the advice from this, and the brisket videos for a very successful cook! I appreciate the idea of the foil boat ( I kept calling them Chud Boats, hope thats cool) because I like having the thick bark but also need that delicious pork juice!
    Also great tip with the quick sauce! I thought mine was going to be too spicy but after mixing it with the pork it was fantastic. I even added the fish sauce and appreciate that knowledge about Freedmen's secrets, a hiddin bbq gem right in the middle of Austin.
    I really appreciate the bbq tips as I am figuring out this whole game up here in Seattle. ....we will just say its hard to get that same Texas flavor up here so I have had to start fending for myself. Thanks for the knowledge!

    @Chudsbbq I have two questions…You say there’s no trimming involved, so does that mean you don’t cut out that weird fatty gland thing that’s on the meat side? I always do because it looks gross. Also, when you pull it, do you not pull out any obvious chunks of fat that don’t render in the smoking process? I always feel like I have a lot of fat to remove. I don’t think my wife would eat it if I left a lot of that fat in there. She seems to be fine with brisket fat or most beef fats, but pork fat inside the pork butt does seem a little gross.

    • @danger7dan
      @danger7dan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Tyler Holt I agree with your first comment and for me it isn’t a problem. But to say I’m not getting it to the right temp is wrong. Most of my pork butts are at 205+ degrees when I pull them off. Probably closer to 210 sometimes. What temp do you pull yours?

    Ok, I never did something like this... yet. My concerns are about the fire that no one on TH-cam talks about. How many wood did you put in there?(TWSS) What made you decide it was time to put more wood or charcoal? I mean, before it is too late and too cold, I guess. If I over do Is can I just simply drop some wood out?

  • @BluePiggy97
    @BluePiggy97 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Bradley, would a foil pan serve the same purpose as the foil boat? Or does it have to do with the foil wrapped tightly around the bottom of the butt?

    • @anthonysalazar4744
      @anthonysalazar4744 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You def want it to be tight around the meat because it allows more of the meat to sit in liquid fat, as a larger container like a foil pan would spread out the fat into a thin layer and less of the meat would be in contact with it. I know this is late response, but good luck with all of your BBQ!! Cheers!
