Surreal tornado
Why does TH-cam give me an option to translate this into English?
wtf.
@@keokiracerhalsteren Yeah, and when the whole comment is obviously in a different language, I don't get that option. Surreal.
Its a violent tornado, as opposed to the pacifistic ones.

5:25 how does a tornado even shape itself like that wow just wow
Hearing you say "iv never seen that before" about a tornado is a rarity.
You guys checking on people makes me like you more. Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all
OH you see that and you _have_ to stop. House was thrashed and with two cars parked outside it was safe to assume someone was in there. They didn't say whether anyone was actually in that house though. Would be curious to know.
@@briane173 We know one of the families on the block. Hard to tell if that's their house or not, but the father and young son rode the storm out in their hallway and managed to come out unscathed. Mom and other children were thankfully not home. The house and all their belongings are gone though.
@@diamondsaphire3444 😥 Tornado Alley is not for the faint of heart, though one of these can happen almost anywhere.
I used to always have recurring dreams of being in or near a tornado, in a variety of situations; one I watched it skirt by within a few blocks of where I was standing; another I rode out inside a tall office building. The dreams are always so real I wake up in fear of these things. One reason why I'd like to go on a chase once just to confront the fear I feel when I have a dream with a tornado in it. I've never seen one or been near one, but the dreams are vivid enough to strike fear. Would like to be face-to-face with one just to get it outta my system.
Amen. Great job, team.
Chasers have a rule that if you see damage you stop the chase and help anyone you can before you even think of keeping on with the chase
Exactly 24 hours after witnessing this live with Reed and Edgar. Reed's instincts were very correct.
I have never seen a storm like this one. Most unique vortex.
It's unique that it was surviving beneath the cloud base. What you're seeing here is in fact what is happening within a developing thunderstorm, and usually when the windshear reaches max vorticity that's when the tornado will tilt toward the ground and travel in the typical vertical orientation. This one stayed horizontal for a _long_ distance and still curled down to the surface. You _very_ rarely see that _under_ the cloud base as opposed to _within_ the cell itself.

Reed pointed right to the cloud and it formed.. thats decades of experience!!
@@flir67man84 And that is why I had his stream on as he went live in the sunshine. within 15 minutes he was on his target.
@@amrak5028could you tell me which live video this is from please?
Words seem so inadequate to describe how breathtakingly beautiful that tornado is. Just absolutely stunning.
That’s one you can’t be sure where the mouth will land since it’s wrapping around so much. It’s wild enough to get caught up starting at it and then realize it over u.
quite literally breathtaking
Fascinating Tornado footage . Never seen a tilted Tornado like that. An atmospheric phenomenon. Great job Reed .
We had one here in Oklahoma yesterday that was spinning the wrong way, like it would do in Australia. I didn’t know that was possible.
Rope tornados twist, stretch and shape. What I love about this video you don't see everyone drooling over the tornado say OH its so beautiful they are worried about the people that thing can kill.
@@hamhockbeans We are concerned as well. Everyone should feel sorrow for their neighbors. Yes there is always tragedy when these storms strike.
the intensity of the ground circulation really shows how deceptive gauging the strength of a tornado just by size or visual appearance can be. very compact but intense tornado.
Insane. I can’t believe the damage this thing did. Never underestimate the power of a tornado, no matter the size.
I know right? It was a very small tornado in circumference, and its odd curled nature gave it even more the impression of a weak rope not far from fizzling out. But that was SERIOUS damage. Thats why its so important to take every tornado seriously.
Thanks for being crazy enough to chase it! Didn’t realize tornadoes produced thin, invisible fingers that touch down before you see it.
they do that often; it's wind that's driving it, not the cloud. Most of the time you don't see it on the ground until it gets dust or debris in there
@@amtra1778 Leigh Orf does supercomputer simulations of supercells and tornados. His research suggests that the tornado is on the ground long before any physical debris cloud forms.
Tornadoes themselves are invisible, they are made of air. What you see is either the condensation funnel (where pressure drops enough that water droplets, aka clouds form) or debris. Usually the tornado itself is larger than it appears by just looking at it, the funnel may be only the inner most core but it can still be very damaging outside of it
That view from right beneath it was amazing.
Reed, my man… you’ve done it again. Kansas gives you your most photogenic tornados.
I know! Too bad he can't hold a camera still and not zoom in and out all the time.
Craziest tornado I've ever seen. Glad I was there live to witness it. Keep up the good work!
What was so crazy about it? I'm from Ireland and for some reason these chasers started appearing in my recommendations I saw this one live last night, obviously it was unusual as Everyone is claiming they've never seen one like it. (I Don't know anything about tornadoes)
@@aus3492 even some powerful multi vortex (meaning multiple different small tornadoes) wouldn't do that, tornadoes usually don't look horizontal they are near fully vertical shafts. What reed shows is a rare occurance
LoL...stop lying! You were not there.
@@JamesWestwood-qf1wulol stop trolling get gud at it 😊
@@StormzMagic The only TROLL I've seen around here is YOUR MOTHER! 💩

Loop-shaped funnel. Now THAT's freaky.
1:46 "How is this not tornado warned". I've noticed that a few times locally over the past couple of years even when there is clear rotation on radar. We even had an instance where an EF1 tornado was down for nearly two miles and had lifted before the warning was issued. Rotation had been visible on that cell for 10-15 minutes before the tornado dropped. I'm not sure if the NWS uses an algorithm to assist in flagging potential tornados on radar or if it's all manual, but there is certainly room for improvement.
Amazing Tornado Reed you always seem to be Johnny on the spot for this great footage and I know it’s not just luck, you’re definitely a hell of a meteorologist/storm chaser.

An utterly wild stream. That tornado never looked capable of that level of damage. Crazy
Some of the best tornado footage ive EVER seen
Man a good solid focus on that spiral for a few seconds would make the coolest live wallpaper that there's ever been.
I've never seen a tornado in real life but WOW! I get a adrenaline rush and my heart starts pounding just watching the video. I can't imagine the feeling you would get seeing one up close like that! It's so terrifying! I hope everyone was ok! Just hearing you yelling to see if everyone was ok gave me goosebumps. My heart goes out to anyone living in tornado alley!
Future storm chasers?
This is some of the most breathtaking tornado footage I’ve ever seen
Oh man Westy😢 I used to live right by Westmoreland. I drove through almost everyday. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tornado
Thank you for all you do to warn us, and do your best in ensuring as many are safe as possible.
Incredible Rare Tornado. Great Chasing Mr Reed & Co. Thank you.
The damage was crazy. I saw it on the news today. You also called how violent it would be.
Great video from everyone involved. Brian does an awesome job as well!
This is why I always tune into Reed Timmer severe weather streams. Your my favorite storm chaser, Reed!
What a stunning, amazing tornado! Great capture! I honor for your love of the storm and compassion in helping rescue survivors
Amazing how contorted that looked ive never seen one shaped like that, really incredible.
Wow, that looks unbelievable! Stunning footage guys, such big hearts for helping the injured along the way.
The video you posted earlier did not do this thing justice. It looked absolutely surreal on stream, but seeing it in this video, especially with the drone footage, really put it into perspective. That thing was so tall! Awesome job catching this insane tornado, it was a thrill to watch it form live. As always, stay are and !
Reed that was awesome I saw that live on the stream yesterday. That was one stretched out vortex tube, holy moly!! Never stop chasing!
Amazingly beautiful, yet horrifying! Thanks for the footage and for caring about the people you encounter..please be safe! So unreal…
That is amazing footage. The rope, the debris and clear blue sky off to the side. Outstanding catch guys. Congrats!
It's an excellent video. I always found them fascinating. Keep up the good work, Reed
About the best capture yet !!!
Seen plenty of wedge tornadoes, but this one is one of a kind !!!!
Was amazing watching that live on the stream yesterday. Beautiful structure up thousands of feet.
Bro isn’t just a storm chaser, but he’s a hero too. He checks under the rubble to make sure everybody’s okay and will help them if they’re stuck.
This season is starting out pretty severe. I hope it slows down. 🙏
Spectacular, Reed! Thank you!
One of your best videos, Reed! Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your images 🌟💜🌟
Very sad and many prayers for the people affected 🙏🙏🙏
That's insane, the LCL looks like it's 5km off the surface.
It's almost like these types of supercells decoupled from the surface but somehow make their own surface based wind shear. This is just so mind boggling to see the atmosphere morphing like this.
Incredible footage! Thank you guys for doing what you do to keep people safe. You can also see some pretty awesome and insanely long sidewinders up on the Bighorn Mountains.
This was incredible to see live
Those are some of the most amazing images I’ve seen on TH-cam, subscribed!
Man that's incredible
This means they found the drone? How exciting!
I saw Edgar haul ass and pick it back up before leaving
Wild
Reed said the SD card fried, but a firefighter found it and returned it to Reed
What a bummer that it's fried, but glad it was found. Thank you.
On the live feed they were searching for it and then picked the chase back up.
Very unfortunate, all the destruction that twister caused. You sure got terrific footage of it though! Wow!
These guys are the best !
TOTAL respect for you guys
I've never seen a tornado that looks like that. Great footage.
This was so amazing to watch live, I hope everyone was ok
Amazing video Reed!
Your videos are amazing! I love watching them… on mute. 🔇
Keep up the great work Reed.
no other words to say other than thank you for what you do for us be safe out there.

Amazing footage of a sidewinder
You are great guys for checking on people
so memorizing and terrifying all at once
One of the most interesting tornadoes I've ever seen captured on video.
Glad I saw it live, never seen anything like it before. Great little clip of the event.
That is the most impressive tornado video I have seen in a long time! i really miss your Discovery TV show Reed.
Sidewinder tornados are so confusing to me🤣 i don’t even know how that would work
Stoned me brain explodes when I try to figure it out.
If you think about a horizontal column of rotating air then getting tilted and stretched by the up and downdraft of the storm….
@@ki4gmb simple as that!
It's like a rope strung between the ceiling and the floor, and multi-directional wind bending the rope around.
All tornadoes start horizontal... this one just decided to only go halfway vertical. Just air currents being at just the correct angle to maintain keeping the tornado in this orientation.
This one was awesome. It's amazing how the atmosphere can curve and twist like that. It's like it's water but different.
I was watching as this happened with my mouth almost on the ground!! Beautiful tornado! Thank you for doing what you do! After your time in Lincoln\Omaha you must be really tired!! Great job!
The footage ya'll captured is amazing
Another great video love the sidewinder tornado, stay safe.
One of the most beautifully terrifying spectacles of nature I’ve ever seen.
Watched this stream live; my first time watching. I'd heard Reed's name for years, so I knew he has a lot of experience being close to tornadoes. Because this was my first time watching live, I didn't know what to think when he said how crazy this is and he's never seen that before; figured he probably says that all the time. Had to come back and check, turns out I got lucky on my first stream!
🙏🌪 The drone footage is nice to have.
Most amazing thing I've ever watched !!!
That is insane footage.. amazing..
Exceptional twister!! Fascinating 😮
This is absolutely amazing I've never seen anything like this before or I never even heard of it Thanks for sharing this. My son would go crazy over this

wow, what an inredibly beautiful, yet destructive thing. most beautiful tornado I have ever seen on any of reed's streams or anywhere else

OMG April 3 1974 my first tornado I was 16. I can’t believe the brave and fantastic video.
I'm with you brother! That's the beautiful act of Nature I have ever seen!! 😮
