The other Kat is the Wildkat. Has P90s, a centerblock-added take on an ES-330. It's great.
I'm liking the sound of this one too. I don't usually go for humbuckers but those Firebird pickups are nice and hot but also sound like they've got some nuance to them too.

@@__Rob I’ve had several Wildkats in the past. I really loved them. But the pickups are really noisy and swapping them out through f- holes is really hard.

Great tones out of this model, thanks for your review. I see that some folks put a foam damper in front of the trapeze to stop any ringing but then looks get sacrificed. The metallic blue model Uptown Kat has chrome hardware and pups if one doesn't want gold hardware on the gold red and green top models. But it seems like there there should be two chrome models and two gold models.

Thanks, Jimmy. I don’t any problems with “ringing”. As to the gold. I don’t dislike gold hardware it’s just that the all gold guitar and cheap-Ish playing didn’t work for me

Thanks for this one! Is this a good guitar for bigsby installation? B3 perhaps, for its similarity with the emperor swingster and absence of top screws?

Yes I think a Bigsby - probably B7 but a B3 might work too. It’s a no brained. It’s very Gretsch like. Although the pickups have more midrange and gain than a typical Filtertron

You probably can by making a lot of amp adjustments and a good slap back delay but it wouldn’t be my first choice

It’s a Vox VX50GTV modeling amp. It’s 50W and weighs less than ten pounds. That’s the best I can say about. None of the models sound like what they’re modeling. But by playing with all the adjustments I can get a pretty good sound.

I’m not sure of what you’re asking. The strings are Ernie Ball .009, .011, .015, .022, .030, .038
I buy them as single strings. I don’t know what the string length but the distance with a trapeze should be the same as the Bigsby
