    After watching many review videos, I just purchased a Casino. I like your style, buying both, but I went with just one 😂
    This was probably the best comparison/review video I found!
    You did a great job showing off the differences practically. Real examples, relatable song choices, great references, thorough understanding of both instruments... This was a fantastic video!
    Great job!

    Believe it or not, the Edge from U2 has had a Casino that he used on a few songs from the mid 1980’s. He shelved it for a while there and started playing it a lot more circa 2004 to present day. He’s used it on songs such as “No Line on the Horizon”, “Miracle Drug”, “Cedarwood Road”, “Original of the Species”, “One Tree Hill” and “Breathe.” He’s a very specific type of player and he practically changes guitars for every single song, but I thought it was interesting that he was a Casino player.

    One point: The centre block on the Epi is actually maple not mahogany, although the neck is mahogany. And a player who initially came to prominence in the last few years using Casinos is Gary Clarke Jr. although he tends to use Gibsons now.

    I have both and the Casino is my number one....just fits and the weight is amazing...unplugged it's a great songwriter guitar as well....having both covers a lot of ground in my world.. ..live I would gig with the 335 but the Casino would be all over my recordings...it's got a hell of a tonal range and P90s clean on 7 volume got a lot of hair at 10...love that factor...love P90s

    This has been an enlightening video. Thank you. It has helped me even though my 335 is a little different...it is actually an Epiphone BB King Lucille. I just got my Casino last Friday and was absolutely astounded when I compared them. What a tonal palette I have been blessed with. Anyway, very good video.

    I've never played any of these hollow/semi-hollow electric guitars. Was really impressed how the Epiphone Casino opened up acoustically. I would not have imagined the level of difference that you pointed out. Both are Ephiphones which is definitely one of my favorite brands so you can't go wrong. 🎸 One guitar I've come across on TH-cam as I was looking at a number of Squiers was the Yamaha Pacifica. Regardless of whether it was the cheapest PAC012 or one of the higher models, everyone seems to rate this guitar pretty well. Not just as a starter guitar; but just as a decent guitar period. Would appreciate your thoughts on those.

    • @onemoreguitarchannel
      @onemoreguitarchannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I tried a Pacifica at a local store and it was very affordable (under $200 I think). I liked it enough I went back the next day to buy it to review it. It was gone haha. For the price I was definitely impressed. I’m sure they get better as you go up in price too, there were some cheaper parts on that particular model. I have a Yamaha Revstar and it is one of the best guitars I have, so from my experience Yamaha guitars seem to be great value for price. Cheers!

    I really love these because of their versatility. I have a Squier Strat now and I feel so limited with it. When I wanna play something acoustic then it really doesn't sound good. I'm really considering this to be my next guitar. I really love blues and indie music so I'm thinking it'll be a better fit for me. Awesome video, actually way more helpful than the other ones!

      I can fuly add to the versatility of the Casino. Since I have it for a week by now, I have trouble laying my axe down. Whether it is Black Sabbath, Beatles, CCR , Ac/DC or CSN & Y, the guitar fits,,,,and IMHO the Es335 will have more trouble to do, also due to the more acoustic possibilities of the Casino. It is a dream come true to me.

    Nice vid. Been playing Casino's since 2005, and it is a great guitar. However, unless you're buying a used Elitist (not made anymore), Lennon model (also discontinued) or a vintage model ($5-10K), you WILL have to mod your MIC model with a better nut, better tuners, and much better pickups. MIC tuners are famous for not staying in tune. MIC pickups are generally muddy-sounding cheap wax potted pickups that don't do the guitar justice. Pop in some Duncan '65s, Lollar's or call Curtis Novak to wind a custom pair for you. Also something very important to keep in mind when buying a Casino: It will be dipped in the THICKEST coat of poly imaginable; your tone will sound "choked". I stripped my poly off. It was a slow process, but it really opened up the guitar... it seems to breathe. The sound is brighter, and the sustain is vastly improved. You'll now have a guitar that sounds like it cost you $2K. No joke. My lead guitarist plays on a Gibson Custom Shop 335 (and a bunch of other vintage instruments) and he was amazed by the tones I was getting. Again, the Casino is a great guitar, just be prepared to put a little money into some upgrades.

    • @mortonwilson795
      @mortonwilson795 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yup, the recent version is still a lovely 'acoustic' guitar, great neck etc. I switched to Lollar P90s / 50s wiring & a bone nut and it's superb . . . I would say on a par with the recent US made Casino (which is way more expensive) altho maybe not quite up there with the vintage models you mention.

      Lol, I'm with you, sort of. Till stripping the finish off. The bridge is important. Put a German ABR bell brass bridge on. Wow what a difference. One heck of a fret level, dress, crown, and polish job, made a bone nut from scratch, Pleking wouldn't be a bad idea, Kluson Revolution tuners are perfect drop in fit without pulling the bushings. Think I can live with the electronics. All of the above was quite an improvement. At least for now.

    I love fuzz. I've been looking at a Casino. Does fuzz work well with it. Thanks.

      Fuzz? They still make Fuzz pedals? I bought one back in 1971 when they were IN! Everyone was using one on their records!

    When I think Casino / 330 - I think Jay Bennett. Bennett used the 330 for lead on many of the classic Wilco tunes.

    Thanks So MUCH for this great vid. I was hesitating between one and the other and your insightful video totally helped me make my choice. Casino it is ! ( My personal preference for what I play. Now, is there a large sound/ quality difference between the made in the USA, Korea or made in China Casino's ?? Thanks again, keep up the great work .

    Nice vid. The 335 is super clean and has more bite than the Casino, but I find the neck too thick for my tastes. I think I'd find the Casino nicer to play, but I already have way too many guitars so I'm trying to resist. Lol.
