      I was going for a 10 mile Long run at (8’34” pace). And it’s so damn crowded. Every 5 seconds... oh couple blocking the whole side walk....Crack in the ground.... car going out of driveway... Have to duck under huge tree leaves.... it’s fucking insane 😂😂

      Dylan P . Not to mention LA is also very polluted and traffic is crazy. Every stoplight there’s always someone smoking... and always gotta wait for dumb drivers that don’t pay attention smh.

    Smoke weed and go for a run. I do. It helps me keep my mind busy with thoughts and body relaxed. How many miles can you do on a treadmil in an hour. I am at 6 miles an hour.

    Spencer I am from CT like you, I notice you make several pit stops when you run. Did you ever find out what can be done to remedy the problem? Because I have the same issue. Let me know.

    Just a little point: perhaps it is different in the USA. When we are running on roads that do not have footpaths (sidewalks) the rule is: you run on the side of the road INTO the on-coming traffic. Not WITH the traffic. That's for New Zealand, Australia, England. I don't know for sure about other countries but what actually is the YSA rule? Cheers

    • @TheAthleteSpecial
      @TheAthleteSpecial  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We also run on the side into traffic which is the left side of the road for the us

    I'm a long distance runner and do marathons. I really enjoy fartlek workouts if you're interest in those at all. Not sure if they are as beneficial for your competitive distances.

    • @TheAthleteSpecial
      @TheAthleteSpecial  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      yea fartlek workouts are great. we do a lot of 90 on 30 off workouts for 5-6 miles at a time. they can be really tough. sometimes we do 400m reps then float 100m at a slower pace and then back on for another hard 400m. those workouts are 4-5 miles usually.

    • @tristangthe1
      @tristangthe1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I personally think fartleks are some of the hardest workouts

    • @Opi395
      @Opi395 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should do some in your future videos if they're beneficial and you're looking for ideas.
      They are tough if scaled properly. They give some of the best benefits though in a training cycle. The top marathoners in the world do fartleks frequently since they have proven to have great results. Again long distance but they are rough for all runners.

  • @romanutd
    @romanutd 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Just came across your channel, I personally really like the long run vids as they're my favourite workout and as said already it would be great to see a fartlek also I'd really like to know do you fit much core and strength work into you're weekly routine?

    • @soccer1555
      @soccer1555 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A Nur thanks:) I would say the biggest thing for me is to find what fits you. You can obviously take tips from other people, but make sure that it’s best for what you know you can do, as nobody else knows your body as well as you do. Good luck m8 🙃
