Oh soooo bad! Spring fever seems to be hitting a little harder this year (like last). I think maybe because there’s so much we wanna get done this year and need good weather?
Great information! Thank you for sharing, I pray that God blesses you today! Hugs and love to you and your family. 💖✝🤗 Have a beautiful and blessed week. God Bless 💖✝🤗
We are growing San Marzono this year. We are also growing mortgage lifters aswell. We will be growing pineapple tomatoes this year we have herd they are great slicing tomatoes we will keep you updated peace love happiness
@@AbundantAcresHomestead the pineapple are very large and beautiful fruit. The downfall for me is they are very sweet and it completely takes over the acidity which I find is what makes a true tomato (acidic)
my FAVORITE thing in the garden to grow is... BASIL! LOL ! We love San Mariano tomatoes, We grow them every year! We like too make them into spaghetti sauce and I've tried it in salad! (That was good!) I love growing tomatoes! Thanks for sharing!
Never have I ever thought that far into tomatoes. Your love for growing a garden shines as much as your hair. Seriously if you ever sold a hair product I would buy in bulk 😆
I love my maters 🍅 You’re too sweet! No secret shampoo is whatever generic shampoo I find, Pantene ProV conditioner and I’m too beauty lazy to do actually DO my hair so rarely blow dry or curl it 😂
I feel rather silly not understanding there is so many different types of tomatoes. I knew there were different colors but I did not know there were varieties. Young lady you have so much to teach others, even older ladies like me. God bless.
My favorite tomatoes to grow is probably Cherokee Purple and Super Sweet 100 cherry. Not sure if tomatoes is my favorite thing to grow or cucumbers, i enjoy growing different varieties seeing how they do, and how they do the next year. Not sure if im going to grow my favorite tomatoes this year or not, if i do ill buy plants. *Have a good'nnn*
I tend to grow cucumbers ever other year…grow enough in one year to get all the pickles and relish I need for a couple years. Except this year I believe I pulled back enough and grew just the right amount.
Enjoyed learning about the different varieties. We mainly grow early girl or cherry tomatoes. Nothing fancy because it takes us until August to get them! Haha
You picked a lot of my favorites tomatoes. The oxheart was bred with mortgage lifters. Go with a German Johnson or Mr. Stripey for a slicer. Excellent flavors on both!
I think most of those are most tomato ppl’s favorites 😉 I’m excited to try the mr Stripey, sounds like (what I’ve read) it’s got a nice sweet balance to it. I think everything was bred with mortgage lifter or German Johnson…they’re like the hookers of tomatoes everyone breeds with them 🤣🤣🤣
Obligated, you sound like me…well now I HAVE to order that 😂 I love growing tomatoes I could’ve went on and on blabbering. No joke I had 45 minutes of yammering that I had to edit out (Angie no one cares about that or okay enough we get it) Trying to stay on topic with actual information was tough! 🙄 SQUIRREL 🐿
Whoa… that’s a LOT of seeds Ms. Angie! We LOVE San Mariano! They’re our favorite tomatoes! Personally, I like growing garlic and I don’t really know why… I just do. LOL Thanks for sharing!
I was so disappointed with our tomatoes last year (got stuck with varieties that were left). I may have went a tad overboard BUT I wanted to make SURE I didn’t get stuck growing “leftovers” again. 😉 I love garlic…it’s the only thing that’s “growing” in our garden right now. So it’s nice to see that little bit of green out there…and it’s delicious!

I've never heard of most of those here in East TN. The Amish paste sounds interesting. Typically I will grow Empire, celebrity, Cherokee purples, large cherry and romas. But all those look great. Yall take care.
If you like Roma you’ll love Amish paste! I like all those…but the cherries, not a huge cherry fan BUT I keep trying different ones to find THE one I like. 😉 😆
Y’all pretty much have to grow everything under a shade cloth over there don’t ya? We have parts in the south that they have to grow heat tolerant plants. We’re in the middle so we get a little of both it can get extremely hot and can get extremely cold or it cold be mild either way…we just never know what to expect weather wise.
Lots to think about here! I'm a big fan of the Amish paste but haven't delved into as many varieties. I'll definitely explore the options you listed and compare my thoughts. Thanks for sharing!
Everyone has their favorites, that’s the fun part of gardening…we get to learn what works for us and our families. No two gardens or gardeners are the same ❤️
Wow very informative I would like to plant also for the ministry but no place to plant thank you so much for sharing greetings from all the ministry from Africa Uganda God bless you
I'm growing Romas and Perons. I got the Perons from Baker Creek back in 2020 for the 2021 growing season, because it was probably the only "regular" indeterminate red tomatoes that they had at the time. I didn't even open the seed packet last year because I had some Rutgers seeds and I wanted to use them first. I'm hoping to do a lot better growing this year. Steep learning curve last year doing a row garden. ETA: I enjoyed your blabbering.
I enjoyed listening to the tomatoes you are going to grow ! I have grew those San Marzano tomatoes a bunch over the years and just haven't cared for them that much . Your growing all kinds of really great tomatoes . I been looking at all the different seeds I would like to grow a lot lately lol . I hope you guys have a great evening !
They don’t have a ton of flavor but that’s kinda one of the reasons I like them. Seed shopping is fun…even if it’s just window shopping (at least fun for me). Great seeing you Aaric!
I’ve never been a huge fan of cherrys but I do like how prolific they are. That’s how I am with sweet peas…I legit just grow them for my gardening snack (something for me to snack on while I’m pulling weeds or what have you) 😆
That was a great break down on tomatoes. I still have to look through my seeds to see if I have the German red strawberry seeds. If I do I will send some.
Hahaha I like them for different reasons! Hahhaha Great breakdown. I would like to know witch are open pollinated and witch are not. My favorite slicer is big beef. Weather in the GH or out in the garden! Take care and God bless! Gro Dat!!
It’s too hard to pick just one 😆 All are heirloom with the exception of maybe the oleron plum (I don’t know much about it as it was a gift). Why is big beef your favorite? Size, flavor, growing…I need details
I love paste tomatoes. I also grow a couple different slicers to put in with my paste. Lol. I am trying to find new paste tomatoes. Not having much luck. I wish there was a catalog just on tomatoes. Anyone heard of Margherita, rise em up, pacisano, I seen shas opalka and oxheart. Those two are hard to find also. Happy planting everyone. 😊
I found a couple new ones that I’m trying this year (goat bag and cow tit) those were really hard to find! I lucked out and found them at a seed swap. Check totally tomatoes they have mainly tomatoes catalog and website is pretty easy to navigate. Best wishes on your garden ❤️
I’m not a fan of Amish paste. But does it make your sauce thicker with out additives? My fav tomatoes for eating and canning are big beef, celebrity, and jet star. I actually have my tomato video coming out soon. Very nice video Angie I will have to try some of these!
Oh yes Abby there’s a big difference between slicers and paste tomatoes. The paste tomatoes have more “meat” so they don’t take near the time to cook down. Most paste don’t have the flavor that slicers do…that’s why I like combining both 😉
They were just okay in my opinion. For sauce specifically they were a little too seedy and thicker skinned than I prefer. I think they were better suited for slicers, not big flavor but definitely good and hearty. But sauce ehhhh I’d opt for others if space was an issue.
@@AbundantAcresHomestead thanks. Im building a garden bed in prep for next season, and am also looking for seeds for next year so probably will go with amish paste
Amish paste are always good for saucing I’d add some oxhearts as well. And if you’re feeling “extra” add one or two heirlooms for extra flavor. My favorites are Paul Robeson and Black Crim for savory and Mr Stripy or Rainbow or lemon boy for a sweeter flavor.
Tomatoes are my FAVORITE thing in the garden to grow…what is your favorite thing to grow?
I'm a big fan of carrots and squash. My growing season is small for tomatoes being in zone 4a but I plan on trying other varieties this year
Fruit trees!
Sweet basil. We don’t even do much with it, I just like the way it smells.
Carrots are our granddaughter’s favorite. Oh yeah that’s definitely a short season!
All fruit trees, or certain ones?
somebody is getting spring fever.. lol

Angie's personal picks! Lemme learn.
There are so many choices in tomatoes. I kinda want to try the Ernie's Nose John talked about.
There’s definitely a ton of choices…probably why I like growing tomatoes 😉
