The 107% rule has been pretty chill since 2011. Since that there's only been 4 instance wheree the 107% rule are apploed and that driver aren't allowed to race. 4 of them are all HRT drivers. A totally differenct scenario from what happened from 2000s and earlier

That’s interesting! Yes I think all 20 current drivers have proved that they are capable of driving at the level required in formula 1
I think it was used a while back to stop paid drivers and rich celebs who wanted to drive the cars in the race

That rule was introduced when there where at least 12 teams competing. It was actually an anti mobile chicane rule. There where some cars and drivers that where so bad that they finished the races 5 to 10+ laps behind the winner.
and where a constant treat for ALL the other drivers.

Your rule #2 has to deal with drivers doing a burnout from their grid slot to start the formation lap. Drivers used to do that to give themselves a bit of traction advantage off the line. Also, the one about tires and air, teams used to experiment with different gasses in the tires. This was basically just a "stop spending money on stupid stuff" rule.

They can use tyres to do it and they do it. For example Red Bull crew always pushes their cars a little bit backwards when they put them on the ground before start, so they can do a little burnout when starting formation lap to increase grip on race start. In Austria 2022 in the practice after sprint qualifying, knewing where he will start, Alonso even waited to get to the slot he would be starting from to get his practice start at the end of the practice session.

Rule 2 covers things like laying down tape in the pit lane for grip or artificially drying the track. Red Bull were accused of breaking this rule in 2020 (except in 2020 it was rule 22.3) when they were they were reported for using the brake duct leaf blowers to dry Albon's grid slot. They purposely left the blowers on and placed them in front of the front tyres.
They "proved" they would have made no difference by "testing" them after the race on a part of the track with different asphalt when the track temperature was a lot cooler...it was laughable.

Rule 2 explanation: It is mean by having a tank of liquid being poured from the car on the circuit, or having a fan, which will dry up the circuit faster on the car or some device which is comparable. Exclusion from rule: Pit Box is allowed by pitcrew to be dried.
Rule 12: If the car is expected to Qualify, they can get a permission. But this rule was not enforced even in year 1997, where being outside 107% meant that you cannot go into qualy, as it is a too slow time to be counted as participant. So this rule is a bit not used in reality. For drivers, if you have a practise 3 injury, you can swap your driver, he can qualy, but if he is outside 107%, he will not get the permission to start as he does not show the required pace.
Rule 13: This is the rule describing the thing from rule 12
    Cheers

#7 - *Not true* that they could cancel Indy '05, particularly given the way things unfolded. That regulation is worded to refer to the "Competition" - which is described in the sporting regs as the whole event, not just the race session. Cancellation is possible if only 6 cars were *entered* and theoretically possible if *all but* 6 cars were formally withdrawn, but I think 14/16 cars rolling into to the pits and DNS-ing en masse does not reach that bar.

    • @RadeticDaniel
      @RadeticDaniel 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very well put.
At the time they took up the out lap and the grid formation lap as part of the race.
That was particularly needed after threats to penalize the teams if they did not participate in the event after having their protests denied regarding tire safety on the banked corners.
Eccleston put them against the wall and they played the rules to his face brilliantly

Rule 7 - Actually no. Because all the cars simply pulled into the pitlane at the end of the formation lap they were deemed to have "entered" and thus the race would have gone ahead since it would be impossible for them to cancel the race at such short notice.
Rule 10 - The FIA seems flexible with this ruling. In 1991 Jordan used 5 drivers (only one change was enforced) and in 1993 they used 6 (no enforced changes), but in 1992 Andrea Moda tried to use 5 but were refused. Either that or they just didn't like Andrea Moda lol
Rule 12 - Qualifying (either sprint or race) actually counts as a "practice session".

Solid video, but the occasional - I'm not even sure what to call it - (voice line, maybe?) really took away from the video, as it sounded out of place, and also overpowered your voice, occasionally.

Its some dumb rule to recoup some of the money they lose for handing out the prize money for the drivers and constructor championships, basically the better you did the more you pay towards the winner's prize

So let’s get this straight: F1 awards points for the constructors series for the season and teams have to pay F1 a minimum plus cost per point ? SMFH
About as bad as nascar owning almost all nascar tracks and requiring teams to pay the track for each race

To be honest, if two drivers finish with the same number of points, 1sts, 2nds, and 3rds, they should either share the championship or have a head to head race.

I would not advise driving a F1 racecar on full speed when you're fat. We see (sometimes) G force measurement on the body . They go up to 5G...Also fat will weigh 5 timnes more in those bends.

its not even fat, 80kg is 176 lbs, thats really not a lot of weight at all. anything over 210 i could see being more reasonable
