We have a missing man from our comminuty who has been missing since may 12. There have been a couple favebook groups formed to help find him. The one not run by the family has turned into a mob of people with torch and pitchforks going after specific people, including the family. Its sickening the damage these people can cause to peoples lives and they feel justified to do so, with no physical evidence. I do know if i ever went missing, i have asked family to NOT turn to social media for help.

I’ve thought about this: an adult who isn’t a fugitive is legally entitled to take a break from human contact. It would definitely be a nightmare to come back and find out your personal history which might include economic problems, difficult relationships, mental health struggles and in general things people frequently don’t choose to share widely is suddenly potentially exposed to anyone in the world with an internet connection.

Thanks for making these videos. I know they don’t get a ton of views on every single one, but I really appreciate the lengths you go to explain niche concepts in law. It may not pertain to me as much, being a us citizen, but it’s still an excellent thing to educate yourself on. Although you are a Canadian lawyer, do you have any tips on where to find more information about law? Would attending court be my best bet?

Am I still expected to search for these people or just respect their right to stay "missing"?
I prefer to ignore and let the chips fall where they may.
